RUMOR: Metal Gear Solid (5) Peace Walker Heading to PS3

Cool. I liked it on PSP, though I don't mind having an excuse to play again.

What I'd really like to see is a new Metal Gear on the PS3 with the systems from Peace Walker expanded upon.

This would make the online multiplayer component in the game fantastic. Few people wanted to try and tackle the controls/matchmaking on PSP to try and play against each other. I could see this at least doubling the player base and I hope the controls will get a little tweaking to fit for a DS3 so camera is on the right stick.

Even though I 100%ed the shit out of Peace Walker, I'd gladly dip in again for a new MGO experience. :)

Experience the thrill of fighting the same five bosses over and over again in stunning HD!

Sorry, still bitter about the piss-poor endgame content.
Shhh! Don't ruin this with words!

I wonder if they'll update any of the textures like Capcom is doing for Monster Hunter.
I hope the framerate is the first thing they worked on; it's quite lousy at times in the game, even when there isn't a whole lot going on.

That and the dithering OH HOW THAT GAME DITHERS

what about portable ops? I wanted to play that for ages.

someone in the psp remastered thread said they should have a Metal Gear PSP compilation of:
metal gear acid
acid 2
portable ops
portable ops 2
peace walker

make it happen Konami

Peace Walker B^)

All PSP games should eventually be ported to the PS3. PSP is like, so 2003.

This will happen, but let I remind you of IGN E3 2009 coverage on the announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Rising (more like Resigning, get it - cause it's so bad it makes Kojima wanna resign):

Update

The game is indeed exclusive to the Xbox 360. Sorry, Sony fans.

LOL. I don't remember that.

Is this part of the reason Kojima-san wasted a year of work?

Well Kojima did design this game as an ode to his son who only plays handheld games. I bet he and his team appreciate having the work they spent a year on developing a very handheld focused game simply being ported to a console...

Is PW supposed to take place before or after MGS3? Never played PW.
It takes place about 10 years after MGS3. Some aspects of MGS3 play an important part in the plot of the game, but not in a good way.

Now all I need is a "rumor" that FF Type-0 will be coming to PS3 my hopes for the PSP remaster line will be taken care of.

There's no way they're going to announce that any time soon. It would sabotage a lot of the sales of the PSP version.

Already 100%'d it on PSP, but it's definitely a great opportunity for PS3 owners to play this. I know I enjoyed it, so hopefully newcomers will enjoy it too.

Though I'd like to try it out with dual analog.

So... his son... has been a waste of time?

Tough shit, its not like the game will stop being available on the psp.

you mean metal gear peace walker (not 5, never 5, never going to be 5)

It originally was:

Konami probably pussied out because they were afraid a PSP game would hurt the brand due to lower sales (they probably didn't realize that by not naming it MGS5 sales were only going to be lower).

Stick a cork in it. If true this would be the announcement of E3 for me. PW was incredible in every sense of the word.
Incredible doesn't have to carry a positive connotation, which is the best since the story in the game ends up coming really damn close to being as retarded as MGS4.

This is your first warning, folks; do not buy this game for the story.

I'll just say that to put "Metal Gear Solid (5)" in the title is super misleading at first glance. Still, great news :)

EDIT: For someone who didn't know that the original title was in fact MGS5:PW. Made me think at first that there was a new MGS announced for a split second.

Wow, aren't you just a shining beacon of love for all things Metal Gear :/

Peace Walker was fucking awesome. It broke out of the MG2:SS mold that the series have been stuck in for two full decades. Its the most genuinly interesting Metal Gear to date, from storytelling to gameplay.
