RUMOR: Metal Gear Solid (5) Peace Walker Heading to PS3

Hopefully there'd be some bumps in the polygons. No?

probably not. unless it's not part of PSP remastered series and a genuine port to ps3, then they can modify the game as much as they want. I think there's possibility that MHP3rd HD is just MHP3rd with high res texture pack dumped to PS3 which could explain the lack of trophies and save file compatibility (basically it's still a psp game)

The second stick for camera and gun control will make it instantly 20x better.

I played it on PSP to near completion (only have a few more guns and some sections to get to 99), so I'm not a total hater of the PSP verison but the lack of a second stick for the camera REALLY kills sneaking around and the aiming system is pretty bad without it.

Still, great game... minus it being slightly unbalanced toward solo play in the later chapters/bosses.

I loved the hell out of Peace Walker, but I found the aiming atrocious and did not even bother to finish the game because of it. Cannot wait to play it on PS3 and 100% it, even without trophies.

Cool, will pick it up months after release when it drops in price since I have the sweetness on PSP already.

I paid $40 for a digital version. Not sure if I can justify double dipping no matter how much I want a PS3 version.

I hope this is MGS PW sub- something with extra content while still being a psp remastered series.

I'm not sure better controls are going to make the game that much better. A lot of the frustration would be gone but the bad boss battles and enemies would remain. Plus I'm not sure the structure suits a console.

I really didn't like PW, so I doubt I'd want to replay it.

And it's not called MGS5. Why can't we let that go.

Kojima considers it MGS5 so why not? Fair enough though, it doesnt say it on the box.

I could see how the boss battles could turn someone off of the game but I really thought they were a lot of fun due to the collection aspect.

As for the controls, most people were turned off of the game solely because of the lack of another analogue stick, so yeah. I would say better controls will make the game a lot better for a lot of folks.

For me it was my favorite in the series and I hope more people will play the game due to this port. I really hope any future MGS games follow its mission structure and soldier recruitment gameplay.

Hopefully Sony doesn't go apeshit with pricing these remasters. $30 is the max I'd pay for one, no matter the game.

MHP3rd is basically new game since it hasn't even been released in the west. and if they add lots of content to MGS PW similar to subsistance, coupled with HD, I can see it sold higher than $30.

I don't like how these seem to have less features then the HD collections. I get one game instead of 2-3 it still looks like a PS2 game (if we're lucky), and no trophies.

It's like someone at Sony saw the awesomeness that are the HD collections and thought, 'you know we could really rip people off with a lot less effort and milk a lot more money out of them.'

on the other hand, the games are newer (compared to PS2 game anyway) and there's very little reason for publisher (especially squenix) to sell 2 or 3 game in a collection for less than 1 full priced game when they can charge individual games for much higher. probably one of the reason we see so few of PS2 HD collection

Ugh I was afraid this might happen. If new missions or anything like that are added, I really hope that it will be compatible with the original save files like MH3 is. PW was fun, but I don't want to sink another 100 hours into it.

Peace Walker > MGS4 by a wide, wide margin.

I still like MGS4 gameplay better. PW is simplified and restricted compared to MGS4, it's great for handheld, but the core gameplay is so much better and more refined in MGS4. PW has shit load of content though and it easily beat MGS4 in that category.

Peace Walker also doesn't have the awesome cutscenes. I'm sorry I loved some of those awesome moments. MGS4 was my first HD game on a TV I bought and that will be something I always remember.

Excellent. One by one the PSP games I wanted to try are coming to PS3.

All that I need now is for them to put the Tactics Ogre remake on there and I'm set!

Nothing to be sorry about, MGS4 had some awesome ass cutscenes.

I know it's not going to happen, but i'd really love for new content. It would make the double dip even more enticing.

If they were going to add anything, I'd like to see some more human and robot enemies to fight. I feel like the game didn't really give you enough opportunities to use all your firepower, since you were punished for actually killing any soldiers.

Selecting Briefing Files before missions leads to a set of Audio interviews from the characters. It offers a massive amount of back story.

I found out about it after 30 hours or so.

The HQ building aspect of the game is awesome, gives it kind of a suikoden vibe. Probably the reason why I enjoyed the game so such.

Yeah, i was really into it. I actually got attached to a few of them. Got really bummed out when my S Rank female soldier (Cod was her name) got killed during Outer Ops. :(

Anyway, I hope those aspects are kept for the future MGS games.

I know there's audio tapes about them, I just don't remember anything steamy out of them. links?

edit: yeah I just see a youtube vid about tapes that I've never heard about, time to check it again later when I got home. man the game just never stop giving.

No trophies is worth paying extra for.

I just hear a random Paz tapes and she's commenting about Snake and Miller fighting naked... god bless Kojima for being an open pervert and we love him for it. now I'm not gay, so I hope there's equal opportunity for some steamy audio tapes for the females too. how about some Strangelove and Cecil tapes hmmm. =D

I put 30 hours or so into Peace Walker on the PSP. I don't know if I want to play it again on the PS3. I'll see what more comes of this at E3. I'm quite interested in this, though. :)
