Rumor: Razer May Be Working on their Own VR Device

How would games being exclusive to certain headsets even be enforceable on an open platform like the PC? Any game with VR support would surely be modded to support other headsets.

Dang. I didn't know many people here deeply hated Razer...
Personally, their mice are insanely good. My deathadder is just pure boss. Can't say I have tried anything else (besides a $12 mouse pad from them), but their laptop looks insane

I can't imagine that Razer could make something that rivals Project Morpheus or Oculus Rift, but I guess if they throw enough money at it...

They had a "no PS3" policy for their products and that makes them instantly unlikable.

Well, the PC is an open ended market. There's room for plenty of players. May whomever gets it right for the right price win.

Well the good news is it will actually be high end.

That's actually all I really want as long as there is someway to turn off the green LEDs it will have.

I just want us to get to the point where there's an open or open-ish VR standard that works with a variety of devices that have the same basic setup as the Oculus. The idea being that VR support would be something akin to triple monitor support, where it's not a proprietary technique you're good to go as long as your hardware has all the basic features needed for compatibility.

If it takes some VR headsets of questionable quality to help establish that standard, then so be it. Their loss is (eventually) everyone's gain.

I'm waiting for Fisher Price to release one.

It would be a better build quality than madcatz.

Should have been the second post. Every Razer product I've owned ended up breaking after months of regular use.

I've only had one experience with a friends keyboard, won't be touching anything razor myself.

Great! I always wanted an overpriced but poorly constructed VR device that breaks after a year!

Maybe this won't break not long after purchase like most Razer products. We can hope. EDIT: Not that I would ever actually purchase anything from Razer again. Two keyboards and two mice later I've learned my lesson. Never again.

Razer will end up tying this in with their subscription computer where you can add on their VR device for only an extra $30 each month.....On the plus side you'd always have the most up to date verison of their VR headset! /s
