Yeah, seems the thread on reddit gaming leaks has been reinstated so the mods there must have successfully verified the info from I Am Real Too. Also, I've told you that Angie from the purple forum would not lie on the specifics of the leak.
In any case, that's good since that means the leaks might be true, and lots of GAFers from yesterday's thread will eat crow come next year.

Why wouldn't that be a believable thing? From a technical point of view the FF7 Remake on PS5 is one of the least PS4 improved ports out there, basically the PS4 version with increased resolution, framerate and slightly improved textures. Oh, and Steam Deck runs FF7R Integrade just fine by the way, and the leaker specifically said that it looks close to FF7R on PS5, and not that it will be identical to it. That said, having FF7 Remake as a Switch 2 launch title makes perfect sense for Square so I'm sure they'll do everything in their power to make that happen.

To be fair though, 4090s are struggling with these current cutting edge releases (barely hitting 60 at 1440p native), which has more than double the power of a PS5 Pro. So at best you may see the native res bumped to 1080p or 1260p in Aveum for example. Not exactly a quantum leap.

I've been told that studios will be getting PS5 Pro Dev kits at some point in the future and work will begin on games at some point in the future too.

Not really, console wall power targets, price targets, and fact that we have the product roadmap of the future Radeon 8000's (no high end chips, a "refresh" of the 7000's) all but guantees a 20-25 Teraflop GPU for a 2024 Pro console (in the single instruction per clock sense)

Same point I made above, it'll only be good enough for 1080p. You'll still be upscaling 3/4ths of the pixels, which will be a marginal gain at best.

it's really not guesswork, and it's not going to give the boost in iq that PS4 Pro did.
I would love for Sony to prove me wrong but this seems really unnecessary at this point and not nearly good enough for the games/engines that will be coming out (neither is a 4090, honestly).

by that logic 480p on series s to 720p on x is also a marginal gain, they shouldnt have bothered with it i guess.

It is absolutely on me. I find that the games coming out are just not clicking right now. Went back and started going through my Ps3/360 backlog until something comes out that makes me want to turn on my system.

I have opposite problem, there just too many games I like coming out but not enough time to play them all.
