[Rumor] Too Human 2 is coming...

absolutely for. th was full of glitches but in the end remains a seminal and HC title...

but I don't know if it sold enough to justify a sequel...

Oh, but there are, for example:

"For reason can I none find
Nor good rhyme in your matter."

Quoting 16th century literature is quite apt since I hear that's when production began on Too Human. ;)

twenty years ago i had an idea for a short story about a cowboy. i wrote a few paragraphs, decided they sucked, crumpled up the paper, and threw it away.

i just wrote a story about a cowboy.

twenty years in the making.

Stuff I would like to see in the sequel:

4 players online, please this would be great, 2 doesn't really cut it.
Refined controls, I don't mind them but half the time stuff can feel random especially when dashing between monsters and hitting them in the air.
Quicker death angel scenes, for the love of god! what were they thinking.
Hub world towns, even if they are limited to 12 people or something, online towns are great for partying up and selling your drops to others.

Not really sure what else, I had the most fun with the game when playing it along with my cousin, solo is rather boring and a grind.

Yes that was out of line, I apologize.

There are many examples of a publisher getting too eager for their own good. 10 years ago publishers were a bit less gun shy than they are now. Even developers. The advent of the 24 hour news cycle created a dramatic shift in everything. Once again I look at how Blizz makes their announcements. They wouldn't dare announce anything if they weren't certain it would be released as they said it would. Shifting to a different developer, Molyneux can easily attest to that fact. Grand plans, grand promises... imagine if you didn't even release the game!

I've seen the videos and quite honestly they're not much better than wire frames and texture mapping. It provides something presentable, but not much more. As for your edit. Prototyping is always a part of development. You can't really tell if something will work unless you see it live. See how it works. See how it reacts. There's no way you can see that via paper. Ask any developer working on a new IP. I can guarantee you that someone had to convince someone else that it was a good idea.
It's alright.:)

Well, they didn't have a publisher at the time of the PS1 version, and from the video as well as impressions from the time it was pretty far along.

The PS1 version looks like a PS1 game. Unpolished perhaps, but there is definitely more than simple wire frames with textures attached. Maybe you meant the Gamecube version, which was only shown off in a CG trailer.

As a side to that, I noticed the PS1 version uses a camera angle in the demo that is a security camera looking at the hero as he goes up to some panel. They did use this same shot in the demo for Too Human in the final release(if I am remembering correctly), so there is at least some that still remained from the original concept. This article at IGN does a pretty good job showing how actively developed it was over the years and how much carried over to later versions of the game.

Well, one was a Deus Ex / Blade Runner game, and the other was a Diablo game. I would say that those are two pretty distinct and different directions for the project. The Too Human we know today was in development for 2-3 years, and the previous versions were canned in favor of the new concept for the game.
Agreed.

I would love a Too Human sequel. Some more levels, higher level caps, 4 player Co-op and not having ridiculously low drops for the best armor? I'm game.

Hell, an impossible to reach level cap like PSO would be awesome.

I'd like to see a sequel with much more content and better loot curve. There's else out there like Too Human, even if it isn't your cup of tea. It's understandable why there is such interest in a sequel since nobody else is trying to fill the niche that TH had.

Too Human had zero post-release support though. No DLC weapons, items, let alone a couple new DLC levels. I don't even think they bothered to patch it even when it was discovered that you could dupe items. Given that there was so little interest in improving the original, I'm highly doubtful of any sequel.

Hopefully the Canadian government gives them enough money to stay open and make us TH2 :(

I have nothing to say about your post, but your avatar is awesome, because The Sisters of Mercy are better than getting a blowjob from David Bowie while eating ice cream. And I'm still waiting for the next one to arrive, Eldritch.. Release 'Slept' and 'We are the same Suzanne' as singles, you knobstick!
