I am really annoyed at how many people are believing this shit.

Multiple images come from a single source, no solid disproving reason bar "I don't like this design/it looks dumb", and we see multiple angles of one Pokemon as well as an overworld shot we hadn't seen and an overhead battle between Quilladin and Emolga, neither of who we've seen from above.

I wouldn't get annoyed since there's a good reason to believe this compared to most leaks. It's quantity and quality of them.

Why are Froakie fans so goddamn annoying?

I have noticed this on /vp/ at least. The Fox fans stay in a nice thread for our fox that we all like because we want a magic-girl/ witch starter and everyone knows that. Ches fans stay in their lil hole-in-a-wall telling themselves "it's not TOO bad ... in game. I mean, Dark-Knight/ Batman ... right?". Frog fans just run all over the place being as annoying and argumentative as they can. I think it's because anytime someone tries to put a lil doubt on their WPM leak they get all up in arms because they want Water Fighting I guess.

That's the only good thing to come from ... w/e this pic is. A ton of them are upset at it.

(I'm sure it's fake now. I mean, come on ... these are animated 3D models and you have all the time you need. Not hard to snap a few pics of the thing moving with different cam angles. no reason to stop at that one pic of the frog...)

Yeah, I'm frankly shocked by how awesome all the new pokemon are. After Gen 5 was such a let down after Gen 4 I thought GameFreak had lost the magic.

This is the only pokemon I don't like so far. Its evolved form is meh, but Fire/normal is interesting.

Gen 5 had interesting typing but not appealing designs. Gen 6 looks like it will deliver both.

I thought both were horrible honestly. I really wanted to like Tepig's evos because I really liked Tepig but dang... Different strokes for different folks I guess. I also feel I need to say this again; fake or not I think that Froakie 3 is really cool

I'm hoping Gen 6's starters don't turn out the same way. GameFreak dropped the ball with Unova's starters. It was the first time I've ever boxed a starter. They were disappointments relative to previous starters and the other pokemon in the region. Greninja looks cool, but I'm unsure whether it's fake or not. The other screens had multiple shots, but we only get one screen for a starter evo? And it's not even the stats page? Come on now.

Except for Oshawott evo line, all those are consistent with the evolution line. So out of 700 pokemon, then yes, I'd say inconsistent evolution is a pretty good reason.

The more I look at it, and compare it to it's previous stages, the more I'm starting to warm up to Frokie3. The tongue-scarf was pretty weird at first, but it really makes the design unique and memorable. It's also a pretty consistent progression without being too much like the previous ones or too far off from the previous evolution.

I'm kinda hoping it's real now, which I think it might be. If this many people are talking/bitching about it, it means GF did a pretty good job of making it stand out as a unique Stage3 evolution.

I shall try to convey my meaning of inconsistent, then.
1) Froakie and Frogadier both incorporate a colour scheme of light blue, dark blue, white and yellow. It seems odd to me, given the placement of the respective colours, to discard a heavy-used lightblue in favor of flesh-pink which isn't used in the others.
2) The species of the evo line is called 'Bubble frog', and the motif of bubbles appear strongly with both of them. I find it odd that they should drop this concept they have been leading up to with the final evolution.
3) The white dots on the nose people have percieved as adorable glasses are preset in evo 1 and 2 and disappear on 3. Odd to keep it for two evo's and just drop it in 3.
4) The silhouette of 1 and 2 seems overall consistent, but at third evo it changes limbs, posture and gains a much, much sharper anatomy.
5) The eyes also change shape completely, and loses totally the feel of "frog" that they seem to have been working hard (in silhouette and design choice) to convey.

All these together just makes it seem unlikely. But hey, it could be real and be an Oshawott level of strangeness. This is GameFreak afterall.

2. The species often changes when a Pokemon evolves. Dewott is the Disciple Pokemon and Samurott is the Formidable Pokemon etc.

3. Not really. The white dots could be concealed by the tongue scarf.

4. Frogadier is much "sharper" than Froakie, so it seems like a clear progression.

5. The eyes changed from Froakie to Frogadier already

It's not uncommon for final evolutions of water starters to drop the light blue found in their pre-evos entirely in their final forms (see Oshawott, Piplup).

Plenty of Pokemon change classification upon evolution (see Wartorle --> Blastoise). You could argue that Squirtle and Wartortle's 'theme' is its tail, which is dropped entirely in the 3rd evo in favor of canons.

They've not been dropped, they've become the lower part of the face and spikes behind the eyes.

4) The silhouette of 1 and 2 seems overall consistent, but at third evo it changes limbs, posture and gains a much, much sharper anatomy.

Oshawott did this too.

5) The eyes also change shape completely, and loses totally the feel of "frog" that they seem to have been working hard (in silhouette and design choice) to convey.

Eye shape changing happens with dozens of Pokemon evolutions. I'm not sure you get much more 'frog-y' than powerful looking legs and a long tongue.

We'll see.

Yup, we will. I'm sure there are thousand counter arguments and proof of what each individual evo did, but I was asked why I personally found it inconsistent, and I still do. So yeah.

But I don't care either way. He could evolve into a treehouse for all I'd care. Pokemon has proven time and time again that their quality of character design is very.. fluctuating.

I'm not saying that I hate them or that they are even fake, I'm saying that it has been proven that fakers can make some very convincing stuff, remember the mink a few days ago? All I am saying is that unless it is footage we should not just believe any real looking leak that comes our way.

I changed the fanart's color and tried to 'rotate' it to match. They aren't one to one, but I tried. Not that good though.
