[EDIT] There have been eight Assassin's Creed titles released since the announcement. The world didn't know who Justin Bieber was when BG&E2 was announced. There was only one iteration of the iPhone when it was announced.

If Ancel is fully engaged in WILD, I doubt this game will come to fruition. Honestly, even if he transitioned the project over to someone else, I don't have faith in the Ubisoft machine to put the level of care and character into this franchise to capture what was so magical about the first game.

It's a shame really, because Jade is a great protagonist and BG&E definitely created a universe that is worth revisiting in HD.

Well...this restores my faith quite a bit. BG&E has easily been my most desired sequel but I was fairly confident that it was doomed to fade away in obscurity.

I think BG&E would be a wise bet for Ubisoft. The AAA industry is (rightly) getting lambasted for the amount of samesy shooters and dudebro protagonists that have come out in the past couple of years. I would like to think that a BG&E revival would do quite a bit better in today's climate then when it originally debuted, and would stand out with it's great characterization and story-line coupled with pretty solid mechanics.
