wtf? Read an review of this game, and all the time I thought it was an expansion/patch upgrade for WoW...

Err, no. They use the same style of gameplay. This rips off the graphical style, UI, fonts, menus, colour schemes.

Actually both of these are closer to intelligence. Wisdom is more about not talking about stuff you don't understand :-)
 
It has the same style as WoW, but it isn't exactly a direct copy. They didn't go ahead and press PrintScreen a few times or whatever. So I don't know what the big deal is, OP.

I'd think a lawsuit would be in order for that bizarre beard the character has. It's like he's wearing a scarf that grew into a beard.

i dont know other than the crappy character art.. (the beard and hair style wtf) its really identical to wow. Even the whole character select screen, the quests, the item slots.

It also has dual class system, housing with elemental enhancements that give you bonuses from games like FFXI... It's about as much of a WoW clone as many other ones out there...
 
Jesus the UI! At least, you know, try and dress it up a little. Maybe add a new color or something... how about some runes? Oh lawd and the webpage! It looks like the old wow page as well.

I'm not saying that copying wow is a bad thing, at this point you pretty much have to - but you'd think they'd try and keep it from looking so blatant.
 
There's really no doubt that everyone's trying to copy WoW. They have to. WoW does everything right. However, it's pretty bad that they literally take the UI style from WoW.

Aion takes a lot from WoW, but its UI hud style is unique.

It's like these people just took UI textures and addon mods, then shoehorned it into their game.

But whatever. I know it's a D&D thing now. But I'll laugh at D&D for that too. Even if there's suppose to be a subtle difference I would have chosen to change one of them to another word.
 
Yeah, too bad it plays like ass. Still, it is free, so can't really complain. If you have nothing else better to do, it's worth a try at least.
 
i am just now trying this out.. its pretty good. i really like the class system. After quitting Wow i now have something to do when im listening to audiobooks again :)
 
I used to play it, but I quit at the beginning of April (I started with the open beta in Dec. 2008). The game used to be great until they started nerfing everything into the ground. I played a 50 Rogue/50 Scout and they nerfed Scout so bad while doing little to address Mages. :lol Haven't been back since, although I periodically check the forum to see what people are talking about.
 
Intelligence = How smart you are.

Wisdom = Life experience, what you have learned from the past and the mistakes of yourself or others.

Two different things. There can be a wise old person who sucks at math. And a smart mathematician who sucks at dealing with people, because he/she has no wisdom.
 
I played RoM during beta, didnt like it because it was a little too similar to WoW. Came back when they introduced Elves and quit after a month.

Its not really a bad MMO but having practically EVERYTHING revolve around the Cash Shop destroys it.

Also yeah they are terrible at balancing.

There are a lot of art assets that are incredibly similiar but just slightly off. I would bet money most of the art in RoM is slightly tweaked versions of WoW assets, they're too similiar not to be.

God the dual class system is just hilarious.
