Ryse: Son of Rome "Fight for Rome" trailer

Look at your name.
You of all should know how your OS flows.

Hm, I hate to see the crow that will be ate (including by me) if the launch ends up going relatively smooth.

Well, they have two weeks to iron out any glitches or to (temporary) disable some of troublesome features of the dash....

Ironic. This is how I feel wading through the fracas that permeates the daily "ps4 vs Xbone" garbage thread as we hurtle towards launch. :)

yep. I can't wait for the hugs and kisses and game analysis to continue. My first console launch at GAF is a little depressing

Haha, someone needs to put your avatar face on Marius and then do the NEOGAF text thingy underneath it.

This was easily the best looking game at MS E3's conference. Having played Crysis on PC throughout this gen, I did not need more than 1 minute into the game's demo to basically confirm that it was *the* graphical showcase for Microsoft's new console. It really is not a surprise. Crytek always delivered incredible visuals on PC, now with consoles that allow themselves to really show what their engine is capable of, this is the result. Absolutely gorgeous, as always. Really fantastic visuals.

I also enjoy the setting a lot. How many games in ancient Rome are there? In third person at least. The only doubt is the gameplay. It's a fine line between a QTE fest and gameplay that flows smoothly.

‏@geoffkeighley Ryse looks very strong on Xbox 1. Great visuals and depth. We'll have more to show on GTTV next week.

Not sure if this has been highlighted but Geoff appears to think that Ryse has depth, this sounds promising .

The first thing I said after seeing the demo was "This is the game to get to show off your new system". I say that having not seen most of the other launch titles though :p

But it did looks rad.

Did the OS version you tried compare in any way to the video MS recently released?

I didn't stress-test it to anything like that degree (didn't use snap, or voice command) but the basic stuff that I did - navigating around the interface, jumping in and out of games - seemed to work well, very responsive, fast and slick.

Thanks for that, Gary. Gives confidence that things should be relatively smooth (hopefully) at launch. The vibe around here is that the UI is utterly broken.

Were you navigating via gestures or controller?

Was this some kind of closed door event you were at then?

Damn. Crytek destroys everything else, this has all the ingredients to become Microsofts next Halo/Gears. With games like this and Quantum Break, Titanfall and Halo 5 next year I really don't care if multiplatform games run at 720p. As long as Microsoft keeps the first party funds running I'm all in.

It's hard not to be impressed with the early games push, that is for sure.

Wow the petition to get this game on PC & PS4 is strong.

That would be great
(if the game turns out to be good)
but i'm not getting my hopes up.
Quoted from the petition:
This was one of the best games presented at E3 Conference this year 2013, and a lot of people was surprised it was a XBOX One exclusive.

Wat? Didn't this game show up like a couple of E3's prior as Codename: Kingdoms with a big "Microsoft Studios" logo on it? How exactly was it "surprising" that it be exclusive to the XB1 when it was always an exclusive?

Didn't take long for the Sony fans to attack Gary. Why are so many of my fellow gamers so embarrassing? God damn.

I don't know if i would go as far as to call these kinds of people "gamers" but yeah they are pretty embarrassing.

Finally.

First time I have done something like this and it took a lot longer than I expected.

Thumbs up!

Nice work. Exactly how I imagined it :)
Am I crazy or right before the final cut away from the emperors face a subtle skull appears in the smoke?
Don't see anything that resembles a skull in the slightest way, or I must be looking at the wrong place/time. Can you make a screenshot and outline it?
