Best song in the show, easily, and some great animation
That's strong
Sorry everyone, Grave of the Fireflies exists and trumps your paltry children's movies and shows.
Even worse is when you realize the author of the original story based it on his actual life and what happened to his sister.
All of this shit! ALL OF IT!
The Adventures of Hutch the Honeybee (Las aventuras de José Miel in Latin America).
Optimus Prime dying was the saddest thing to me when I was younger:
The episode dedicated to Uncle Iroh's voice actor in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
That shit hit me deep.
Optimus Prime dying was the saddest thing to me when I was younger:
The Land Before Time- death of littlefoot's mom. That shit cut deep.
I don't know if it's necessarily "sad", but I cry evertym.
It's how the film should have ended... especially if they wanted to really scar little kids for life.
Holy shit this scene and what came before it. He went down fighting with everything he had. When they took his gun, he used his (drill tail) sword. When they took his sword, he used his laser eyes, when they took THAT from him, he used a make shift club from a rock and some twisted branch. Such a great scene.
Episode 11 of every season of Bojack Horseman.
Well most recently
All of Graveyard of Fireflies.
The mom brontosaurus in original The Land Before Time.
Is that aMST3K reference?
Not all of it. There are moments of hope and joy.
That's what makes it so goddam effective.
The Tale of X-9 from samurai jack.
Here's an edited short version of it on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeMxq98egMk
In the series Jack mows down all manner of robots, who are just basically cannon fodder to be killed in masses. The Tale of X-9 gives you a glimpse into the motivations of a particular robotic assassin sent after jack. The entire episode builds up his character only for him to be killed in the blink of an eye.
its one of the best.
When ash decides to leave Pikachu behind.
