SR2 is one of my favourite games this gen. New info on SR3 was the thing I anticipated most about this year's E3. I wish we didn't have to keep waiting, but at least this announcement means I can be moderately satisfied. However, I question the whole transmedia promotion thing. Why would I want to watch an SR movie or read an SR book? Everything in the game hangs off the protagonist created by the player. It's not Mass Effect, in which Shep can take a backseat to the universe. The defining features of SR2 are what the player can do in the world, not the world itself. I foresee an Uwe Boll feature in which the word 'Ultor' is the only tie to the game universe. I just hope THQ focuses on the game, and doesn't waste money on ridiculous marketing attempts which are doomed to fail.
