Saints Row III vs Borderlans for coop?

isamu

OMFG HOLY MOTHER OF MARY IN HEAVEN I CANT BELIEVE IT WTF WHERE ARE MY SEDATIVES AAAAHHH
Having played Borderlands + ALL DLC coop with a friend, we're now taking a hard look at Saints Row The3rd, especially with the current 50% off Steam sale. But out of these two games, which one is better? I watched a couple trailers for SRIII and ummmmm.......I'm not *QUITE* sure it's a game I'd be able to get into. Borderlands was great though. Lots of guns and plenty of action. Cool graphics too.

So which is better?

I don't know. I thought Borderlands was the dullest FPS ever conceived

Having played through both co-op, they're completely different experiences. SR3's co-op is well executed and is a lot of fun, it's well worth the $25 if you're even somewhat into GTA-like games.

Can you shoot fish guts from a gun at a person that will invoke the wrath of a shark that bursts through the ground and eats said fish gut-covered person in Borderlands? Serious question.

LOL not that I know of.

I've platinum'd Borderlands on PS3 and think that Saints Row would be a little funner online. Although it's fun playing with 3 other friends in BL.

Yeah, I purchased BL on Xbox and PS3 because some of my friends only have one of the consoles. BL is a hilariously fun time with 2-3 friends.

Saints Row II is 3.75 on steam
You can play the whole singleplayer missions as well as all activies drop in drop out coop..and then you can just have fun doing crazy experimental things...
Try it and if your having fun go buy Saints row III.

SRII graphically was shitty but download the Gentlemen of the Row and Unofficial Patch and its a fantastic game to play coop.

Saints Row 3 is not really built as a co-op game. Yeah, I know co-op is there, and it is fun to play, and it is well executed, but the game is not built around the idea of you having fun when in co-op. In fact, it arguably makes what is so fun about the game a bit less fun. Borderlands is a vastly different game than Saint3 Row 3 - they are at completely different ends of the spectrum in terms of co-op experience. They are both fun - but i would in no way recommend one cause you liked the style of the other.

Thanks....can you expand on why they are so vastly different?

I would say Borderlands, a much larger experience and very cheap now. Get the GOTY version and you'll have a lot to do!

My friend and I hundred percented Borderlands before continuing our co-op charge through other games. Nothing has held our interest like Borderlands had.

We then started Saints Row 2 about a month and a half ago. We've had a great time. Yes, it is a completely different sort of game. Yes, some of the activities are tedious.

But, running around in a Hot Dog suit and as Santa Claus with rocket launchers creating mayhem is pretty damn hilarious.

We're looking forward to Saints Row 3 at some point.

Loving SR III so far. Lots of crazy and fun things to do :)

Borderlands is the best interactive chatroom I've experienced with friends. Just chattin' about your day while relaxingly shooting animals and soldiers.

SR3 is a little more hectic, but could be a nice co-op game as well.

Borderlands is downright awful for co-op. It uses shitspy arcade and is just downright unreliable in when it wants to work. Avoid at all costs if you're getting the PC version.

Saints Row 3. Better story missions and dialogue and more casual co-op (no level restrictions). SR3 also maintains its hectic pace much better than Borderlands with its MMO-lite stylings.

And, only in Saints Row 3 can your buddy cause citywide high explosive havoc on the ground while you cover them with a helicopter gunship. The game is fucking priceless. :)

if you enjoyed the humor in Borderlands and have a friend to play coop with you, then you should definitely jump on Saints Row 3. The DLC for SR3 is up to the quality of the regular game but there just isn't enough in the DLC to justify the regular price.

its not awful when youre only playing with friends you know and shit

Borderlands has the better co-op. Saints Row 3 is a great game, but what makes it great isn't the co-op elements (though they are fun).
