Other tidbits (Google Translate gibberish):

"Philippe Lavoué 175 000 copies of the console were sold in France at this stage and we are seeing a positive trend in sales since the
launch of Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker, which, like Ocarina of Time 3DS in its time, had favored Sales of consoles."

"Moreover, levels of booking games Professeurr Layton and the Legacy Aslantes or Legend of Zelda: A Link Between the Past
comes out on November 22 clearly indicate that the dynamics will continue this season. We expect the 3DS family to a record high this
year-end, it should establish itself as the number one console on the market."

"The situation on Wii U began to change this summer with the outputs of games like Pikmin 3, Legend of Zelda Wind Waker and the
trend will continue with Wii Party U, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014, Super Mario 3D World November 29 and
next year via Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong Country, Bayonetta 2 ... Third-party publishers are also there with Just Dance 2014,
Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and Call of Duty Ghosts at the end of the year."

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
3DS numbers seem ok but the wii U ones are terrible, especially when you consider it's launch numbers.

3DS numbers in France should be pretty big, from what I remember. Yeah, those Wii U numbers are awful, though.

Wii U eveywhere is nothing but a commercial failure.
At least, we should see a higher demand for the system in the next time.

Google Trends Analysis for the Wii U in France (quoted for size):

Interest in the console increased a lot in November.

And France is Europes Japan:

3DS dominates this charts like no other system lol.

We had a big debate with my girlfriend as to whether or not the 2DS would succeed in France, I guess I win ahahah.

The numbers for Wii U are... wow.

Awful but not surprising. They had a big hole n their release schedule and now its hard to get momentum again. Its the same in all territories. Nintendo needs to push wiiu this christmas Since now they have the games. Mario should be a great champion of sales

They've got 3D World and nothing else of importance. That's still not enough to get the ship sailing again -- but at least we can expect sales to pick up somewhat...

It's still a mystery to me that Nintendo didn't see it coming. Or they did, who knows. Having such a bad line up is not excusable for a company with as much experience as Nintendo, however.

So, 480,000 units* in three of the biggest European markets since launch. That's...urgh. URGH

*Germany is up to end of September, not November. Still, URGH
Fits reasonably well with an extrapolation I did from Nintendo's IR briefing charts which put the system at ~700K across UK, FR, GE, SP, IT, NE, BE. 450K for those three major territories and then something like 250K for those other 4 territories combined?

(Off-topic but for some perspective the PS4 in all likelihood has already overtaken it in just a day.)

The 'H' stands for hentai.
Kinda surprised PokeFrance didn't sell better than it did in France.

Come on, your country is the inspiration for a really awesome Pokemon.
