His Skrillex theme?I agree and the only major issue I had with AMS2 aside what you stated was the really shitty electro music, especially when he's in the middle of the city. Just really cringey.

That's not even new to me since I grew up watching the Fox Kids cartoon and genuinely liked it. Maybe I was in a really bad mood watching ASM2 or something, but I just remember not liking it. It's been 2 years and I don't want to watch it again, but who knows, I guess I have to. I used to not like ZZ Gundam, but I like it now so shit changes.

It hit me yes, but not the way you think. Zeta Gundam's ending tends to destroy me, but I've seen like 4 times so far. I just didn't enjoy most of the movie when I watched it. Maybe I'd enjoy it more the second time.Maybe ASm2 hit you harder than you thought? I legit probably will never watch it again, but only because they did a really good job of building the Gwen death up. It's pretty heartbreaking, especially in a movie so full of highs
I've blocked out so much from this movie...I assume the one with the really on the nose 'lyrics' like
HE HATES A-ME
HE USED A-ME
THAT SPIDERMAN HE IS MY A-ENEMY

Nothing more but Sony trying to cash in their license, just like Fox with Fantastic Four.
They need to lock up McConaughey as Osborn.
It's always funny to see people make tonally "matter of fact" posts and then say something that bonkers.![]()
Whenever I'm on Gaf, I feel like I'm the only one who liked those movies more than the Raimi ones.
Well, to be fair, Spider-Man 2 is universally praised. Rotten Tomatoes has it at 93% (96% for top critics). The average rating is 8.3/10. There were 48 "Fresh" Reviews to 2 "Rotten," which seems like universal praise to me. Some may argue that it's just critical opinion, but looking at the audience score, it's 81%. Some may still argue that Rotten Tomatoes isn't the end-all, be-all of film criticism. While I think RT is one of the better sites for this, that's still a fair point. Let's try Metacritic then: the Metascore is 83, while the user score is 8.3.
As for the Amazing Spidermans - well, they were hit with the orci and kurtzman ugly-writing-stick - so they are even worse than Raimi ones - probably on the same level as Batman Forever and Robin.
This is so spot on. In ASM2 during the first fight with Electro in Time Square when he uses the firehose on Electro and quick cut to Spidey standing there wearing the fireman helmet. Pitch fucking perfect. The ASM movies were the best portrayal of Spidey that we have had so far.Wasn't on GAf, but most of the ocmplaints were clearly about it being a reboot. And Raimi-Man is a brute and nothing more. He isn't quick witted, he says maybe 2 one liners in the whole series, and he's always chasing Mary Jane for reasons. He only moves like a spider for action poses, and the CG somehow got cheap and worse between 1 and 2, that last shot with the helicopters is awful.
Webb-Man is a millenial who is still dealing with a shit life. And it seems like a lot of people just didn't like Garfield because he wasn't a complete introvert, which makes no sense with the kind of company Peter keeps. Also, every moment with him in the mask felt real, the way he emoted, his backpack, especially the swinging, since they used men on wires, and the choreography really nailed home his agility.
I just don't get how anyone who claims to be a fan of Spider-Man can look at those movies and not see how great they were to the character, regardless of the studio mandated bullshit.
Yes I meant bonkers as in saying Spider-man is good but not Spider-man 2. We're on the same page.
Well, the Raimi ones were shit. Spiderman 2 was maybe a 6/10 at best. They're in the Blade league in terms of quality. Maybe Blade 1 and 2 are slightly better than Spiderman 1 and 2.

Anyway, the true, real, struggle-is-real unpopular opinion is that both series kind of - AT LEAST - sucked.
I'm not even Armond-Whiting here - I genuinely don't like any of these Sony-Spiderman productions...
Field's May was leagues better than the cardboard performance the previous actress gave.
She was good but wow she might as well carry a cardboard sign saying "MOTIVATIONAL SPEECH COMING"You're crazy, Rosemary Harris knocked it out of the park. Personal preference and all that but "cardboard" that is not.
I honestly find it hard to believe anyone likes ASM2 aside from the unintentional hilarity.

I liked that itself, I just didn't like that it was synced to the music. Kinda felt like a poor man's combichrist (they did the music for the DMC RebootI did like that it represent Electro's internal monologue, but yes it's really pushing the limits. The lightshows and choregraphy make up for it, especially the city scene when Spidey saves the folks on the bleachers.
WatI skimmed Amazing Spiderman 2 the other day. Holy crap the cg is terrible
Maybe MCU can have their own Spidey and Fox and Sony can arrange a Maguire-Jackman team-up movie. The Parkers move into the X-Mansion after MJ gives birth to Mayday. Hijinks really ensue when Deadpool misplaces baby May!No love for JMS' take on Aunt May?

ASM Peter/Spidey was a selfish, unlike able jackass. Dubbing a couple one liners over good CGI and effects doesn't make a good Spider-man.
You should watch the movies again. This is literaly the point of ASM, where he has to decide to use his powers for more than just being a vigilante. The movies go out of their way to provide a better setup than "you didn't stop a guy, so now you must be responsible!" And some folks are like, why isn't he such a perfect person? Why would Peter be all happy go lucky with no parents, poor, and a social outcast? And him being hot doesn't stop the last thing from being true.

😄
You work it as much as you can, but you can't put ten pounds of shit in a five-pound bag
Aunt May has always been kind of a shitty character, in her defense. Well not always. But almost always.
And I'm a huge Spider-Man fan.
She was good but wow she might as well carry a cardboard sign saying "MOTIVATIONAL SPEECH COMING"
Sony will give him back to Raimi. They fucking nearly did too.![]()
Well one thing for sure. MCU spidey better be good, because if its terrible also, IDK what the hells going to happen with that character.
But that is the set-up. Peter didn't stop the guy. He was responsible. That's the WHOLE POINT of the character. That's the whole "Great power, great responsibility". There is not better set-up than that because that's all Peter Parker ever needed or will ever need, because it's the very heart and soul of what makes him the hero that he is.
He doesn't have to be a "perfect" person, but he has to be a RESPONSIBLE one.
And ASM was pretty happy-go-lucky and popular compared to most renditions. I mean, he was with Gwen Stacy, after all.
"Don't make promises you can't keep."
"But those are the best kind..."
WTF WAS THAT SCENE?! Sorry, but no. He consistently came off as an irredeemable jackass, and tried to play it off as charming.
Okay, I'm finally watching the first ASM after avoiding it for years and I have to say I definitely dont hate it. I love Andrew Garfield as Parker and his scenes with Emma Stone are really good. Mega chemistry. It makes me wish this was the first Spidey movie instead of Raimi's. Raimi's were okay, but I really didn't like the casting (hated Maguire's Parker). Spider-Man 2 is always praised and it just didn't much for me personally. Doc Ock was good in it though.
Getting hurt or dying trying to do the right thing? Gee, that's so awful...Meh, you can argue that Spidey was with in his right to tell the dude fuck off. That places the emphasis on him just being able to beat someone up, so he should, which shouldn't be the point. What about people without power like Uncle Ben? What do they take from that message? A depowered Peter gets gut shot trying to stop the dude. ASM places emphasis on that decision, that Peter thinks outside of himself to help others, which is something everyone can do. This is emphasized by the super terrible crane scene.
That Peter was an irresponsible idiot whose inability to be responsible gets not only his uncle killed, his girlfriend's father killed, but also his girlfriend.Apparently the movie was supposed to end with them broke up, but the focus groups hated it. And they're in high school, I don't know what else to tell you.
lol I still remember people trying to defend Peter Parker having no character arc from being a selfish fuckwad at the start of the film, to being an irresponsible selfish cunt at the end. The justification was 'it's only the first film, they set this all up so we can see him changed for the second film'.
Lol.
Horrible film.
Unsurprising. Superman/Cavill was barely present in his own film. He was window dressing. A hollow robot. Not to derail too hard, but I hear the same thing about Superman in Man of Steel...
"Of course he's a violent, destructive guy who destroys people's trucks, buries people in the rubble of his fights, makes out with girls on the ashes of a destroyed city, and snaps necks... it's his first day on the job! He'll get better in the second movie. This was all set up to see him change in the second film!"

The ASM portrayal is just so SELFISH from start to finish.
That Peter was an irresponsible idiot whose inability to be responsible gets not only his uncle killed, his girlfriend's father killed, but also his girlfriend.
And he appears to learn absolutely no lessons from this.
Why make things up? No character arc? Dude goes from being a selfish fuckwad with no parents, to finding a way to cope with being a bastard and realizing that he himself can be something. The early rumors were spot on about Nolan influence, because they tried to make it about being an ideal and not just an obligation.lol I still remember people trying to defend Peter Parker having no character arc from being a selfish fuckwad at the start of the film, to being an irresponsible selfish cunt at the end. Its not like he promised a dead man to stay away from his daughter only to go fuck her hours later and then get her killed.
