Samba de Amigo: Thank you Ulala!

Well, now I'm sold. When does this come out?

On the Wii, you can play as Ulala on Beach Spikers (GCN), Sega SuperStar Tennis, and now Samba de Amigo. Just give us a new Space Channel 5!

They've really given Ulala's model a complete overhaul.

I want to believe. :(

Maybe they used the same model from Sega superstar Tennis...

...

Maybe..., not trying to fuck with your illusions....

Mmmmh.... *strokes beard* Yessss, that'll do.

I wonder about the shadows though. Since the scene doesn't look overly complex, wouldn't a better shadow be possible? ...but whatever. Not like I would notice while sweating like a pig and flailing my arms around. Can't wait.

Oh, of course. But whether it was for this game or Tennis, they did upgrade her character, a lot.

I hold no illusions; there will never be another SC5. I just want to believe there is. :(

Whatever happened with that Space Channel 5 rumor?

Hey guy who just doesn't get it: eat a dick and get out of here with your over-simplification and vast exaggeration.

It's obvious that the gameplay isn't exactly out there in SC5, but it's a music game, so really they're all like that. Space Channel 5 just uses audio prompts instead of visual ones. Space Channel 5 really nailed the music and atmosphere, which is really the most important part of the music genre. Thanks to branching paths and collectible characters, the game actually had some replay value too.

shadow map resolution's too low. at least they're trying with projected shadows, though.

*gets back to playing mercury meltdown revo with proper-res self-shadowing*

What about SEGA's recent actions makes you believe that there WON'T be a SS5?! They've already re-done every single dreamcast era game save 2, SS5 and Shenmue.

It'd be kind of pointless without Mizuguchi directing and one of those brilliant soundtracks.

I was wondering about that myself... years of video game trivia had informed me about that whole bizarre fiasco, so now I'm wondering if anything "changed" or if it didn't matter as Sega dealt with either the group as a whole or whoever owns the copyright.

Whats happened to Sega?

Just about all of their published/made Wii games (outside of their Sonic stuff) is awesome. :O

WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO SEGA?!

This game was pure fun on DC.
I really hope we have the same feeling with the wiimotes because the don't have the right to fail with a tracklist like this one.
Even if if not the most complete (and maybe not the best) Samba De Amigo is the musical game I had most fun with !

Slowly but surely returning to glory. :D

Now that is an incredible set list. The music from the previous games is missing SOS, though. "The tiger took my family!"

Also, the list has none of the Sega tracks so they will probably be either unlockable or downloadable. I reckon a Jet Set radio stage isn't far behind, as there was JSR music in the DC game =)

Ghost Squad
House of the Dead 2+3 Return
House of the Dead: Overkill
MadWorld
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams
Samba de Amigo
Sega Bass Fishing
Sega Superstars Tennis
Sonic and the Black Knight
Sonic and the Secret Rings
Sonic Unleashed
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz

That's not a bad lineup, and even the ports and less-than-stellar games (SST or Bass Fishing) are still enjoyable.

Okay, I was getting this anyway, but that track list puts it over the top.

I never thought I'd own a game with a Perry Como track on it. But Ozomatli and Dee-lite? Oh yeah.

What is wrong with the Sonic Wii games? Well, specifically talking about Secret Rings.

have we gotten detailed impressions? Will there be a way to shake both maracas on the same position/note?

There was word about maraca shells being included a couple of months ago, and the price hasn't changed on any of the store sites.

So they're really selling this for $39.99 including the shells? Sounds too good.

Aliens: Colonial Marines too.

I must say.. SEGA needs to make Gearbox work on other old properties by the looks of how Samba is going :D

I'll probably play this at a friend's and see how it goes.
It might have renewed popularity now that Guitar Hero is big.

I burned myself out on the DC game.
