That's weird. I got the notification early on (how I realized you can actually move apps to the SD card), but none since then. Have you moved anything to the card?

pretty good battery life so far, at 50% at 9pm.
Thanks a lot for this. I probably never would have found this if you didn't mention that you have to navigate there within the app.
I don't know if this is a "fast" wireless charger, but what's supposed to be the charging time for fast wireless charge?
Here's the results of my first day of battery. No sim card in yet and I was on WiFi when using this. I'd say this was moderate/heavy usage from a lot of browsing, downloading a few apps while streaming from google music, streaming 45 min TV episode from Plex, and probably an hour or so of gaming.
Before my phone died, I hit 6.5 hours of on screen time. I think I was around 40% brightness for the majority. This is reminiscent of what I got when I did my first big battery drain on my Xperia Z3 Compact:

It's not one of the 'fast' ones. Samsung's store page says 1.4x faster for the 'fast' variant.
DisplayMate just dropped their S7/S7 Edge screen analysis. Basically these devices have the best screens on any mobile phone on the market, yet again. Quotes.
In Basic Mode (sRGB) the phone also hits 6480k, in Photo Mode (Adobe RGB) it hits 6512k, both of these for all intents and purposes are pretty much as close to the ideal 6500k as it gets. White balance is essentially perfect.

I need a new phone but I'm hesitant to get a 4GB ram Android phone after the disaster that my Note 3 turned into a year down the line.
Is there any reason to believe that 4GB on this phone is different from 3GB on a Note 3 two years ago? I keep waiting for a 6GB phone but there aren't any announced for the US yet. My Note 3 is killing me right now. I don't know how much more I can take.

Good to see, watched the video yesterday, didn't know if it's trustworthy, so glad to see some conformation.
Will make the jump soon, my z3 decided to not focus the camera anymore. After trying to get the software renewed (with pc companion or whatever it's called) it erased all my photos. Save data is broken. Big let down for me and my love for Sony mobiles.
BTW. What's the quantity for VR gear in the US, here (I think it's for the whole German speaking area) it's 2500 units.
My phone does not ship until 3/11. So pretty much this is only for people who got their phones delivered to them by companies who broke the ship date??

Got my wallet case last night from the $5 sale too. I don't normally go with cases, but if I can double it as a wallet, I'll give it a try.
I've never lost either, actually. Only time I have a chance of misplacing one is at home and that's an easy find.
I was just commenting on people here saying they got the offer for the free wireless charger. I do not get my phone until Verizon ships it and it looks like it will be past the date of the offer.

Seems that way. Technically it's not an offer to S7 customers, it's an offer to Samsung Pay customers. Although it is only valid from a list of phones that support wireless charging, which includes the S7/Edge in the fine print of the offer.
Yes, the offer shows up in app (events).

As a Canadian coming from an aging Samsung Galaxy S4 with snapdragon 600 chipset to a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with Exynos 8890, how much of a leap are we looking at, performance wise, both in CPU and GPU prospects? I'm having a hard time understanding the comparative benchmarks.
I've been holding off upgrading my S4 until a true successor comes out.
The S5 was too soon for an upgrade.
The S6 made too many compromises, including removal of microSD card.
The S7/Edge looks like a return to form and a large upgrade in every sense of the word, coming from the S4.

S7 is like leaps and bounds faster than the S4. They aren't even really comparable. Even over the S6 the CPU/GPU is a very good deal stronger.
As a former S4 user, I can say you're probably in for a treat.
I don't have an S7, but just going from an S4 to the original OnePlus was a big performance leap. You'll realize how slowly your apps ran/loaded and how you learned to live with lag as soon as you fire this thing up.

Oh man, you guys got me hyped: it's very true I've put up with my S4's ever-increasing lag over the years. Can't wait to jump on this!
It also looks like smartphones in general are greatly slowing down in performance gains year by year as Moore's Law starts slowing down because we're peaking with current nanotechnology. The S7 seems like the next big upgrade that would last me longer than my S4 unless some massive breakthrough with nano-engineering takes place.

I've preordered an S7 Edge Black Onyx through the only Samsung store in my area: comes with a free Gear VR alongside a 128GB samsung microSD stick!
Bought it at full retail price (buying it through my Rogers carrier will force me to abandon my current corporate plan). I justify the $1k+ cost as offsetting the years I've put up with in not upgrading the S4. At leat the free Gear VR and 128GB microSD helps us Canadians somewhat with our terrible exchange rate.
When I ordered mine (Verizon) they said I would get an email with info after it ships. I also put my email address in the promotional page to be notified.
Continuing off this, my Tab S2 also brings up the task switcher faster than the S7. I'd say that it's just about the same speed as my Z3 Compact. The Tab S2 is beast that never lags. Maybe the S7 will change in a future update? I dunno, but I have no complaints with its speed and it's still one of the smoothest devices I've ever used.

Does S7 have USB connectivity through wifi?
I love this feature in my Z2, that means i can connect and transfer files wireless from my PC from/to phone, it takes 2-3 seconds to establish a connection and boom, off i go transferring files. No cables needed. Much easy.
One other thing to make everything faster.
Go to 'Settings' > 'About Device', then click on 'Model Number' 5 times to unlock 'Developer Options'. Then go back to 'Settings' > 'Developer Options' and change the following
Window animation scale
Transition animation scale
Animator duration scale
all to to 0.5x instead of the default 1.0x. This will make everything in the phone regarding menu's, transitions etc, snappier and quicker.

Yeah, I don't really mind this speed at all and I do know about these settings, but thank you.
I'm actually more curious if this was intended for Marshmallow because this is running on a much more powerful chipset and it's not like they added more bloat to marshmallow. As noted above, even my Tab S2 on 5.1.1 pulls this up fast and mulitasking is very fast.
But a long with that, I don't think the Tab S2 is a good a job as keeping apps in memory, so that's one reason I'm looking for to Marshmallow on that thing. But, by the time it arrives, I might have already purchased a Cube i9 windows tablet running Remix OS, haha..

I'm a current Note 4 user, and I love it. However my company offered to buy me a new phone and line, which I'm definitely taking.
So far they've been offering iPhones (6S & 6SP) but I was able to talk them into buying me an Android phone. So right now I'm in the process of comparing iPhone 6S+ vs. Galaxy S7 Edge (which I just started researching) vs. my current Note 4.
The areas I'm moslty looking at is camera (highest priority), battery (high priority), and performance (high priority), app support (medium priority). I don't mind touchwiz, in fact I'm sure jumping to Marshmallow + latest TW will be a solid upgrade. I'm a little hesitant about going back to iOS, but I've been hearing it's come a long way since I left the ecosystem in 2013.

can't wait to retire my Nexus 5 and get this. not really interesting in any other phone at the moment and really don't feel like waiting for the new iphone/nexus.
i'm probably just gonna get the S7. a 5.5" screen would be nice but 5.1" would be fine for me. the extra battery i don't think matters because, well, i'm coming from a nexus 5 so the S7 is gonna be a huge step up. the curved screen looks real nice but not sure it's worth an extra £80.
i'm not the kind of person to buy straight away so i will wait until may/june to get a better impression of the phone before picking it up.

Finally getting an upgrade!
I've been stuck with my Nexus 4 for 3 years now so it's great to finally leave the stone ages.
I can finally take a pic without it looking absolutely diabolical and the screen will be just so much better.
Getting the S7 as I got a pretty good deal on it. Not to fussed about the Edge.
