Aside the already pointed out fact that antutu is synthetic and no real proof of real world performance, who really cares about gpu performance in a smartphone beyond the point of handling the UI at 60fps at screen's resolution and playing those couple of games without stuttering?
The gpu part is probably the most useless waste of space and heat in a SoC...
Unless you use gearvr a lot... which I do.

Oh and I stopped using google now because I like stuff like the notification counts on things.

Review confirming that the S7 Edge has God-Tier aesthetics. The phone just looks amazing with the way the screen wraps around. I hope I don't have buyers remorse learning that I just could have used one handed mode (I already have my S7).

The dimensions on the S7 edge made me happy enough to size up from the s6 edge. It's only 2.5 mm wider and something like 8mm taller. It's not insignificant for a phone, but that's still small measurements.

It's happening!

It's a lot more plastic feeling than I expected. I think the S6 Edge was classier.

I still like it though, but will take more getting used to than I expected.

Only annoying thing so far is that I can't quite press the '1' key properly and keep getting '2' instead.

PhoneArena with its awful battery tests. GTFO with that, lol. You know that they're doing something wrong with the iPhone 6 does bad on the battery test and the iPhone 6s does significantly better when most sites test that as being relatively the same. Then on top of that S7 tests worst than S6 when it has the bigger battery, more efficient chipset, and same OLED display?

When I click on the Verizon app for my order it says "Order details are currently not available. Please check back later" But the webpage still has my order and it has not changed.

No idea what is going on.

A better way to watch is to sign up for UPS My Choice and Fedex Delivery Manager both of which are free services.

They will show you any package heading to your house from the two carriers. My tracking info showed up on there before Verizon gave it to me.

So I found out this morning I got screwed over by T-Mobile. Ordered the S7 Edge last Thursday and a rep told me I would be receiving an order confirmation and a EIP document I needed to sign within 24hrs. Didn't see anything Friday but figured I would give it the weekend. Nothing yesterday so I called them. The rep told me that the rep I spoke with to place the order only wrote the order up as a draft and never pushed it through. So I had to place the order all over again and now they're telling me its backordered. Fucking perfect.

I have been checking to see if my credit card has a temp authorization (for the tax) and nothing. I did fro the black version.

Pissed off. Phone supposed to be delivered today. Checked tracking all day, just to get a message saying there was a problem with the delivery, address details missing. ARGH!

Somehow Samsung never told Parcelforce my flat number so back to the depot it went. Rescheduled for tomorrow so I'll need to wait in all day no doubt. Hope for a miracle and that it comes first thing but that never happens (does anyone ever receive deliveries before 4pm?!).

I like the more customization from Nova. Maybe I'll give it another shot.

Also I've disabled all the edge features as expected.

It's amazing how smooth everything runs on this phone. With the exception of Chrome, that is. Chrome is very sluggish and laggy. I'm using the stock browser for now.

Mine actually shipped from the same city I am in and was updated to be delivered today but it still hasn't changed to "out for delivery". I keep refreshing so I can leave the office and pick it up.

Edit: It still doesn't say out for delivery but it now has an estimated time range of 12pm - 4pm. It's currently 2pm.

Funny, this morning i received a call from vodafone to ask me if i wanted to upgrade my contract. I told them i was only interested if i would get the s7 with the gear vr at a discount and i just made the pre-order today, I will be getting everything for 250 bucks, not bad!

Went for the normal S7 in black which looks like quite ordinary but I just think the S7 looks to tacky, sorry.

Really looking forward to have my first proper VR experience! (Only tried OR 1st dev kit)

Battery is insane today. At 88% and I've been dicking with it all day.

i've been using nova for years, and haven't been tempted to change to anything else.

gesture edit on it's own is reason enough, double tap to android settings is the first thing i ever do.

and touchwhiz + nova ... is great. you get the best of both worlds.

samsungs superior multitasking and connectivity options (hello sony ..try and make a phone that properly supports wifi direct maybe?) and also edge screen features .... and then you get Nova, with it's abilty to customize the hell out of the device in how it looks and controls.

anyone who by passes a galaxy based on touch whiz alone should prob buy an iphone, because they apparently are that lazy.

why is it even mentioned in reviews anymore ...? to mean TW means an awesome cam interface, great connectivity options, and a icon set .. that can be completely ignored thanks to Samsung skin engine and of course android launchers

Nova needs work with the lock screen and a few other glitches here and there atm.

This likely doesn't tell the full story. Based on previews and reviews etc, my guess is the 820 throttles more than the Exynos. Consistent performance is imo more important than outright performance, so we really need more info before deciding on a winner.

Presently we know that the Exynos has a better CPU, whilst the 820 has the better GPU. Question now is whether or not Exynos throttles as much as the 820 can. Because the Exynos is actually underclocked, I suspect it will perform well in that regard.

Impressions.

In any case, been using mine a lot and seriously, this phone is incredible. From the packaging, through to the feel of the device itself, everything is just ultra premium. Copying everything over was super easy (that included USB adapter worked wonders), you literally just plug your two devices together with the included cable and adapter and everything transfers over. Settings, backgrounds, texts, files etc.

The screen, just like the S6 performs perfectly on the Lagom test images. I can see each and every grayscale block, and make out every individual colour tab. It also actually performs better with gradients, and brightness is massively increased.

Still not sold on Edge functionality, but at least it looks cool and is comfortable to hold. The curved back definitely helps, and overall the lack of bezels makes it seem far smaller than any similar sized phone.

Oh and the camera and focus speed, holy crap. It's as quick as you'd ever need. Only negative so far is that speaker volume is ever so slightly less than the S6.

I removed most of my bloatware, there was actually very little, also installed the Android 6.0 theme and reduced the number of animation frames, scale and length by half in developer options, so now it not only feels even snappier, but looks slicker too.

Well, crap. I put the order in on 3/1 and did it over the website/on the phone. I remember mentioning the S7 Edge. She had me sign a document digitally while she held on the line and I thought everything was taken care of.

I checked the online inventory status page and it said it was being processed until late last night where it finally had shipped and a tracking #.

Phone shipped out and arrived about an hour ago. I opened the shipping envelope and noticed the packaging just said S7 on it. I have an EDGE screen protector and case sitting here... maybe the packaging doesn't say Edge? I looked - 5.1" screen. Doh! I checked my order e-mail and it says S7 - no mention of EDGE. Ordered the wrong phone. :(

I went on the chat and they said to just return it and place a brand new order for the S7 Edge. They mentioned I could also go into the store and avoid the wait... I wonder when local T-Mo stores will get their S7's in stock.

Super happy with my S7 Edge, it arrived this afternoon from Carphone Warehouse. Feels super premium but very comfy at the same time. Perfect size for my small hands. The screen is amazing coming from the LCD on my Z3 Compact. The camera is a ridiculous upgrade from the Z3 Compact's rather poor 20.7MP sensor.

Also if anyone was wondering, I ordered the Belkin Qi charger (Amazon UK - £12.99) and it works fine with the S7 Edge (without a case, haven't tested with one, I'm awaiting a Spigen one now). Naturally it's quite slow as it's wireless but I plan to use it at night.

I called Carphone Warehouse today regarding the Gear VR, looks like they have a delivery backlog but I now have confirmation it's coming tomorrow. I told them I'm cool to wait, as long as it's on the way I'm happy.

I ended up just getting a Zagg one from the kiosk in the mall. Fits perfectly

They were completely sold out at Best Buy prior to the phones release I guess. Damn you early T-mobile peeps. Zagg has page for coming soon tempered glass on their page so I know it's coming, but I really need something in the meantime. Was hoping someone here had purchased one of the other available tempered glass screen protectors and could provide some impressions.

S7 Edge for those who are looking to respond.

Store launch is Friday morning.

My edge came today.

Wasn't 100% I was keeping it.

Then I tried gear vr, my first ever experience of VR and WOW. I don't know what I looked like but I'm sure the smile on my face every time the environment changed made me look like a total goof.

The free gear vr makes it well worth the purchase.

I use a company website to log all my work and having the ability to quick navigate to any of the pages on the site from anywhere on the phone is so awesome.

I thought the edge would be a gimmick, but it ive already found tonnes of uses for it.

As for touchwiz.........I can't see why I need to care about touchwiz. My mothers S4 runs pretty smooth and obviously so does this S7. Coming from a G3, which is lauded for its cleaner skin, touchwiz on the face of it isn't really all that "intrusive" or apparent as far as I can see.

I was pining for a 6P before the S7 was announced, but I'm pretty sure I would've been bored with stock android. Sure its clean but, I can make any android phone as clean as I want...its android....so having bells and whistles is fine by me. Having stuff to disable is better than having less to begin with imo.

Anyway, gear VR is a win. VR is a win. Companies have already invested a billion dollars in VR THIS YEAR. I love it.

Charging. Compared to my G3, it charges quite fast. Even with my ikea wireless charger its charging up nicely.

Always on is cool. Not a massive feature for me, but its cool.

The camera is quite amazing in low light. Poorly lit rooms look like outdoors. Havent done much picture taking though.

All this VR praise is making my decision between VR and S2 difficult. At first I was in the VR camp then I moved to the S2 camp. Now I'm going to have to reevaluate my decision again.

Why not get the S2, resell it, and buy a Gear with the money? The Gear VR is only $99.
