But for those that claim AMOLED's are too saturated or have inaccurate colours...

Im pretty sure people just go with the default screen mode which is set Adaptive Display. Personally I rather use photo or basic mode for the lower white color temperature, less strain on my poor eyes.

strongly considering get an S7 edge. It looks so damn nice. Trying to login to verizon to see my options. I got my Icon back in august of 2014. As i understand it pretty much everyone has gotten rid of the two year contract option now?

Got an email from Rogers saying my phone has shipped to the corporate office that will be reshipping to me.

I'm going to be a sad panda if its not here by Friday ... I'm offsite in another city all next week on business.

Quick case review.

If you're looking for a case that gives good all round protection and has a bit of style too, definitely check out the Spigen Neo Hybrid case.

I got the gold one to go with my gold S7 Edge and it looks and great. The pictures can't do it justice. Matched with your phone colour it just looks so damn nice.

The grip of the phone is much improved too obviously and the buttons are effortless to press.

I got the slim armor case too for when I'm at work. Its not as nice looking, but also not really much chunkier either to be honest, if at all. To be quite honest it almost feels like its not that much more substantial than the neo hybrid case.

If it wasn't for the fact that I want the neo hybrid case to stay looking good I probably wouldn't bother with the slim armor.

The button press on the slim armor is so easy to press that it almost feels too sensitive and that they could be easily pressed in a pocket. Well see how it works out.

First full day of using the Edge. Battery life has been completely underwhelming so far, but I'm keeping it off Wi-Fi as a test. I guess we'll see if it evens out over the weekend.

With the same usage, the Edge is already where my 6s+ would normally be 4 hours later.

Only the Neo Hybrid Champagne Gold case was available to me, so I went with that to go with my Black Onyx S7 Edge. I hope it looks okay even with the black phone.

I was gunning for the "Gunmetal", but it was not available >.<.

Why is LED indicator all or nothing? I like to disable LED indicator for charging, but like it for the colored notifications for different apps (blue e-mail, green kik, etc). My old phone the S4 allowed me to shut off LED specifically for charging, and keep it on for all other notifications. There is only a on/off option for the LED option.

Use LightFlow.

So I called TMO about my order. The guy said that Samsung gave a limited supply and that the Pre-orders far exceeded the demand. Once the green light was given to ship, the whole system messed up which is why some orders are going out before others.

He said Samsung has released all their stock today, so it may ship tonight, possibly tomorrow.

Bummer, but I'll hold out. I thought about heading to the store in the morning, but then I'd have to go through the hassle of returning my other order.

Unplugged my phone at 7am and it is now 9.11 pm and my battery is at 18%

But I only have just short of 4 hours SoT, what the hell do you guys do to get 5+

I use auto brightness, I have wifi on in the house and off when I am out. I keep bluetooth off and I have disabled a number of apps that I didn't want.

I do use a light background though.

If you just got the phone, it won't be good on the first run. The light background will only matter if you spent a lot of time on it. If you have bad reception, it will definitely drain more and if you were moving around a lot, your phone wasn't going into doze mode. Also, the facebook is evil so I would disable that if you haven't yet.

Firstly, which phone, and what carrier? Also S820 or Exynos? There are going to be lots of factors at play. Have you done anything to debloat your phone?

On a side note, hell hath frozen over. Verge gave the S7 Edge a 9.1, which is actually higher than their score for the iPhone 6s/6s plus.

The Verge | SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 REVIEW

Surprised they don't do a separate review for each device the way they do for the iPhones.

They score it high so that when the iPhone 7 comes out, they can give it an even higher score.

See what happened with the S6 lol

has any device gotten a 10 for battery? They didn't even give the Xperia Z3/Z3 Compact a 10 for battery...

Yeah, she is just 2 days old :)

I don't even know where the doze settings are and as for facebook, I disabled as I don't have an account.

Sorry for the lack of details.

It is the S7 Edge and I am in the UK on EE and it is the Exynos version.

I have got a package disabler installed but didn't take too much off (S Health etc) as it is was an unlocked/unbranded phone direct from Samsung.

Ordered last night, hopefully it ships today. Looks like I was too late to get the Gear VR though. Went with black, and plan to go naked like I always do.

How is Touchwiz these days? Last time I saw it was with the S4 and it was gaudy as hell. Surely it's better now?

Misses and my edge's showed up today, great feel in the hand as a first impression. The recycle your phone mailbag was a nice touch by Samsung. Part of me wants to water dunk test this thing as advertised but another part knows better.

Any tips for someone migrating from an iPhone5?

These are a few to get you started.

1. Back up all your contacts with your iPhone to Google. That way when you sign in with your S7, contacts will automatically sync in.

2. If you need to back up anything else from your iPhone, you can use the Samsung SmartSwitch app on your Mac or PC.

3. Hold your finger on an empty part of the home screen, swipe left and turn off Upday or Flipboard. This will just make things quicker.

4. Go to Settings > About Device > Software Info, > and then click on build number 5 times.

Then go back to Settings > Developer Options, and change the following to 0.5x instead of the default 1.0x. Everything will be quicker.

Window Animation Scale
Transition Animation Scale
Animator Duration Scale

5. Go to settings, then themes, and search and install the Android 6.0 theme.

6. Download and use Chrome.

7. Hold your finger on the stock browser in your app draw on the home screen, and slide to trash can. Then slide Chrome (and anything else you want) in.

8. Hold your finger on an empty part of the home screen, then click on screen grid, and choose 5 x 5.

9. Download and install SwiftKey.

10. Go to Settings > Display > Screen Mode > and choose Basic. This is the most accurate mode.

11. Make sure in camera settings, you have double tap home button to launch camera on. This is the quickest way to launch your camera, even whilst your screen is inactive.

12. If your phone is connected to Bluetooth in your car, go to Galaxy Apps, search Samsung Music and then download it. The app will be called Music, and it'll look like an orange pair of headphones. Use this when in your car, as you will be able to change tracks with the controls on your steering wheel.

13. If you listen to headphones or earphones a lot, I recommend downloading PowerAmp. It's the best music player out there for phones.

14. Turn off GPS and Bluetooth when not being used. Easy to do by sliding down the settings tray from the top of your screen.

15. Slide down settings from the top of your screen, then slide down again, click edit, and turn off Quick Connect. Now you have more space for notifications.

16. If you're using fingerprint scanner, register the index finger and thumb of both your right and left hands. It'll be useful when you're using it on the other hand, or its lying flat etc. You can register up to 4 prints so it'll be enough.

Thanks for the info. My order status got changed from "expected to ship between 3-8 and 3-9" to "expected to ship on or before 3-12" today. I live chatted with a T-mobile rep yesterday and all he could tell me was "the S7 Edges are expected to ship in 10-14 days". When I asked if that was from today or from when the order was placed his only response was "we don't know."

Good to hear something that sounds a little more definitive.

With a week with this phone it is great. My phone history is galaxy victory, s3, lg g3, and now this phone. This is going a good job at being my favorite. Samsung has improved alot since the s3 and I can now get behind them again. Battery is good so far with my work day being 7am to 9 pm it lasts all day. Normally at 15% by days end. Screen is beautiful and just overall feels nice.

So I got the free Gear VR games even though I picked the Gear S2. I just logged out of the Oculus app and back in and they popped up. No code entered, no nothing. I thought only people who got the Gear VR promo would get the free games. I'm on Verizon. The bundle is Keep Talking, Darknet, Star Chart, Drift, Herobound: Spirit Champion and Anshar Wars 2.

No complaints from me!

Also, Herobound Champions is fun, but Social Trivia is fantastic. Currently if you have a controller you can actually fly all over the room and troll people that don't have one. It's pretty hilarious sneaking up behind people, or slowly getting nearer and nearer to them, or just blocking their view of the answers. I'm sure it'll get patched out.

If anyone wants to add me as an oculus friend, it's plagiarize

As you probably would have guessed.

These are a few to get you started.

Nice. Thanks.

I'd also recommend Blackberry's Android apps (rooting not required).

I truly believe the Blackberry keyboard is the best keyboard on Android. One notable feature it has it that it can tell when you switch from one language to another while typing, automatically changing its text predictions to the language you switched to. The Blackberry Hub is also great if you like having all your email accounts, text messages and social media notifications under one unified inbox.

So I have to send back my LG G3 phones to Verizon. I am going to remove the SD Cards, but I am wondering if I should wipe the whole phone before sending them.

If so, what is the best way to just clean the whole internal memory?

Factory reset. Hold down the power and volume down i think when you are starting it up.

Well so far ... phone is NOTICEABLY faster ... but that should be a given. I'm not used to minor UI changes between the S4 and S7 but it won't take long to get used to.

Happy with the upgrade and I've only really spent an hour or so with it ... will mess around with it tomorrow while at work most likely.
Nice! I am tempted.

Nice.

Now people can enjoy a slower overall expeeience.

is there any testing for this? I'm assuming you mean the on board storage is faster than an sd card would be. By how much, and does Marshmallow account for this and intelligently put things in places where speed would matter? Don't have any Android devices which have external storage so I haven't' really done much research on how it works yet, maybe you have a link handy.

EDIT: that wasn't too hard to find lol. So basically it looks like it may not be the best idea to use adoptable storage for now.

Yeah I wouldn't recommend. Even the fastest MicroSD cards are gonna be a ton slower than the flash storage Samsung uses for their phones.

That and no one currently has any idea what happens if an update comes out.

I gave it a go, but it's basically pointless as far as I can tell. I can't move most things anyways (all Oculus stuff refuses to move), and I don't think I can make it store photos etc on the removable media if I do this.

Basically I'm not seeing the benefit.

Edit: never mind, found the migrate data option. I think I'll roll like this for a little while. Live dangerously!

I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy S4, will be picking up my Galaxy S7 Edge tomorrow.

Can't wait to experience the ridiculous performance spike, as I'm leaping from 3-year old device that's been slowing down and losing its durable battery life over the years.

One question I have, though, is the S7 Edge's compatibility with the S4's charger/cable accessories: can I use my Galaxy S4's wall charger with no ill effects on my Galaxy S7 Edge, as a backup? I intend to use it in the office, and the original S7 Edge charger will be used at home.

Can use the S4 charger with no issues. I jumped from an S4 to an S7 as well and, well...let's just say you will notice a huge difference lol

Yes you can use it as a backup no problem.

Has anybody receive a email back from the T-Mobile Samsung offer deal?

I submitted mine a couple days ago, but I don't know how long the wait for a reply should be.
