I don't give a shit about what people think of her, but tell me WHY they think that way about her.

I can't speak for anyone else. I don't know what their reasons are. It could be something as superficial as the 1000s of plastic surgeries or her knowledge of waterboarding suspected terrorists.
My question was-- how can someone justify calling her the greatest politician of the last decade considering she is the least popular politician.
Does alienating Americans to the point of getting 10% approval ratings make one a great "politician"? Not by my definition. Obviously, you think differently.

Dude, let's make this easier. Why do YOU dislike her?

We'll always have that one night in the dumpster behind that Mexican Arby's. :(

As Speaker of the House, she was the subject of a political demonisation campaign on the part of Republicans who feel that they can't touch Obama without looking racist.

False. Nancy Pelosi was hated far before Obama was elected.

Probably the same reason you hate the Barracuda. Her politics just don't fit you.

So I was sitting there just finishing up my green burrito when this dude walks by the window. By the rarest of chances through the smoke-tinted glass, our eyes met. Love at first site? Maybe? Or was it the Bronco Berry sauce dripping down my chin that caught his attention? He's never told me.

I wouldn't say it's a requirement. But I do think it'd be nice to see more politicians who are more concerned with actually GETTING SHIT DONE during their term than worrying about their popularity and getting re-elected, and getting nothing done at all during the interim... aside from struggling to keep their approval ratings up.

Do people like you read only until the first comment that you feel is wrong and just hit reply without reading follow-up comments? I've addressed this already.

Sometimes, yes.

The specifics are not palpable.

But my testes are. And that's really all that matters in life, isn't it? i think we can agree on that one.
I don't know what you're asking me exactly. Why I don't like Pelosi? Without getting into ANY palbable specifics, I'll just say that I'm quite a bit more to the right on the political scale than she is on nearly everything.

Thanks, nobody could have guessed that.

I was always under the impression that Sarah Palin was never popular because many people identified with her beliefs per se, but rather that most of the attention was focused on her because of the rhetoric she employed when attacking her ideological opponents. She's a professional gadfly that gets attention for saying controversial things. A lot of conservative pundits employ this tactic and liberals always fall for it.

Agreed... I mean, 10% approval rating sounds pretty awful, but seeing as how a good chunk of the American electorate refuses to accept the necessary tradeoffs that are required in government, it's pretty damn hard to be a responsible politician and not piss off around half of the voting public.

And for someone who is apparently universally reviled, people sure have a hard time articulating what they dislike about her.

Yep, we all knew it, she cashed in her popularity with the book deal and reality TV show. Before then she may have still had a chance for presidentm considering she's just a wannabe politician that everyone fellow Republican wants to screw. Maybe now she could at least try to apply at ESPN for an opening - since that's all she's good for.

She's a fraud, phonier than Milli-Vanilli, move along folks nothing to see here.

Does that make me a bad guy? In your eyes?

For continually dodging the question and not really putting anything on the table? "Bad guy"? Kinda, I guess. Aside from that, I probably think you're a bad guy as much as you think I'm a bad guy for likely being as far left as you are right.

Honestly, the best parts about these threads is the implications of silly things.

Only Republicans would nail Palin.

However, this has inspired me for a new thread.
