The best thing about BN is Michael's cover IDs. That devil one a couple weeks ago was fucking amazing.

Who DVR's Las Vegas?
Josh Duhamel doesn't DVR Las Vegas, and you don't get that joke because Josh Duhamel is the star of Las Vegas and nobody watches that show!

EDIT: I guess I missed the funny skit at the end...Ah well.

It's kind of a spy show.

A dude was a spy for the CIA but got a "burn notice" put out on him, which essentially blackballs him AND he's not allowed to leave whichever city he's in when the burn notice is put out — in this case, Miami. So he starts taking on odd jobs that a spy would be good at in order to make money while he's stuck in Miami, like protecting people from gangsters, or finding someone's kidnapped loved one, or getting to the bottom of a drug cartel, whatever.

He has a small support system of his amusingly callous mother, his best buddy who used to be a Navy SEAL, and his ex-girlfriend who is a sniper (I forget why).

An awesome feature of the show is that the dude, Michael Westen, does voice-overs that explain how and why he does the spy stuff he does. Like, "When you have to find an escape route quickly, a ventilation duct usually is not the best route to take. They're too small for an adult to fit into and it takes too long to unscrew the panel. Instead, you might want to lift up one of the panels in the ceiling. It's fast, it's easy to cover your tracks and you gain access to any other room on the floor." During the voice over, you actually watch him glance at a ventilation duct, then look up at the ceiling, hop up there via a desk, scurry up there and replace the panel before bad guys bust through the door.
See, I never would have known any of this :lol Sounds awesome. I knew the show's name, but that's about it. Four seasons already? damn.

Skit was definitely up my alley.

I think the seasons have been kinda short — cable TV and all.

...actually, upon checking Wikipedia, it's in the middle of its third season, not its fourth. (Way to go, SNL writers, or was that part of the joke?) They've aired 40 episodes so far, with four more left in this season. It's been renewed for a fourth season, too.

BTW it airs Thursday nights at 10 p.m. =P

Hell, it is easy to get confused. The show's "season" is broken up into 2 chunks over the course of a year.

That's true. Just like NBC Universal did to Battlestar's second and fourth seasons =\

Seriously. This is why I never watched the last half of Battlestar: too much time in between "seasons" left me with time to turn my attention to other things. Since I never saw the last half; I never bothered to follow Caprica.

Ugh, Josh's voice on New Fang was absolutely terrible. Even with the terrible mix, his voice was pretty far off.

I don't see how you could even tell. It was like they had his microphone completely off.

Don't they test this shit before hand? The mix was terrible for bands on Conan's Tonight Show for most of its run too. I just don't get it.

When a grassroots campaign involves both Facebook and a beloved Golden Girl, the scope of its influence cannot be underestimated. To wit: Sources confirm to me exclusively that Saturday Night Live is thisclose to signing TV legend Betty White to host the show for the very first time.

But there’s a catch — and a pretty cool one at that.

White would not be hosting alone. Rather, I hear SNL is putting together a “Women of Comedy” episode that would team the former Rose Nylund with several of her younger contemporaries. Ex-SNL MVP Molly Shannon is on board, I hear, and feelers have also been put out to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. (An NBC spokesperson insists no one has been confirmed at this time.)

This tag-team approach will allow Lorne Michaels to appease White-on-SNL zealots (half a million and counting!) without making the 88-year-old shoulder the burden of all 90 minutes on her own. And hey, anything that gives Fey an opportunity to dust off her Sarah Palin impersonation — as she’s rumored to be considering — is okay with me.

I loved that Smash Mouth skit. I have to admit that All-star is a guilty pleasure of mine.

I literally LoL'ed when they burst through the wall.

I missed the first half hour tonight -- tuned in at midnight after watching last night's Caprica episode on DVR -- but most of what I've seen has been pretty good. The only thing I thought sucked was Moynahan with the buffering skit during Weekend Update. Otherwise, I haven't laughed this much at SNL in a long while. Did they get new writers?

Just finished here in the west, really funny episode. Kenan's commentary skit was really good, and Lopez looked damn good in it. My favorite skit was the car horn skit.
