Decent episode. I don't understand how Justin Bieber is different from Aaron Carter.

I'm a little confused and I need some clarification. I haven't watched a full SNL episode in a very long time and I decided to watch this one because of Tina Fey.

I have to say that I loved this episode. Everything past the absolutely shitty opening and the lackluster golf sketch was great, but it might be because I'm not familiar with any of these characters and "tired" jokes.

My favourite sketch was the retro high school dance; that just came out of nowhere and was fucking hillarious :lol. Also, the Weekend Update hit on all cylinders, including the two guests.

Are the rest going to be this good or was this episode an exception?

This episode was pretty good, and it was a departure from previous ones. There were pretty much none of the tired characters people complain about because they didn't reuse any old sketches; I think besides Aunt Linda, everything was original. It was just solid all around.

And, yeah, the high school dance one was really reminiscent of old SNL: slightly exaggerated versions of weird characters you might meet in real life.

Also, as I mentioned before, in this episode (and the previous one with Jude Law) they were pretty good about ending sketches. In recent years, they've tended to go on loooong past any possible joke could be squeezed out.
