Still on Dropbox with a little under 100gb used. Primarily for project syncing. With multiple desktops/laptops, the fact that I can save and work without worrying about which machine I'm on is absolutely worth the cost to me.What exactly do you use Google Drive for that you need so much data? I just use it for documents...
There's no reason it has to be for massive data. I could back up 40 GB* of family photos, and never need to download the backup again unless there was a local hard drive failure. And when I did need to download them again, I would be fine with waiting for a few hours.Because it's for absolutely massive data. Normal consumers expect some amount of performance from a backup and probably isn't storing many terabytes. If you are, you are a power user who probably needs to go with Glacier.
Can you stream videos to your phone / tablet that's on this storage?
Does anybody know if Google reserves the right to datamine anything that is stored on an account?
Google Drive has allowed for that for awhile now (public folder and hosted web apps) but maybe it's not quite as robust as what Dropbox provides, not sure. I think there's CORS support.

That 1.99 a month... You can probably pay about half of that using the credit they give you for that google rewards app.
Im trying to recall how often I get those little surveys. They give you generally anywhere from a quarter to a buck for answering questions every now and then. I might stop ignoring them if I can pay for some cloud storage with it. Assuming of course Play credit can be used to buy this storage space.

I can't seem to buy space with my Google play credits. My only options with wallet are credit cards. So no then? That 1.99 a month... You can probably pay about half of that using the credit they give you for that google rewards app.
