When I saw an XBox 360 thread started by Gahiggidy, I knew it would be good. After all, Gahiggidy inspired this classic animated gif:

Never could I have expected a somber warning about the fucking heat output.

Ok, that's crazy.IF I get a 360, so much for putting it in the somewhat tight compartment under my television. I'm assuming PS3 will put out an equal amount of heat.

...It's really not funny.

And no, I'm not an Xbot.

I found the use for the Rubbermaid Containers funnier :lol

Anyone got official demensions on that power adpater? I think it may actually have more volume than the Revolution. Though, surely it will have a power adapter of its own.

I don't know the actual numerical dimensions offhand, but I do remember that it's 85% the size of a PStwo.

Judging by the side-by-side shot of it against the main unit, I'd say the adapter is 70% the hieght of 360 (12.15'', 8.5''), half the width (3.27'', 1.63''), and depth about twice that amount (3.25'')... giving us a grand total of ~45.04 cubic inches.

Now, Nintendo says the revolution is about the size of 3 DVD cases stacked, which is 1.7''h, 5.3''w, by 7.5'' d.
That totals to 67.58 cubic inches.

Xbox power-adapter is the clear winner in compact design.

By the way, I was bored and calculated the volumes of the xbox and xbox 360..

Xbox == 525 cubic inches.
X360 == 403 cubic inches.

So, the 360 is in fact smaller than the xbox, by 23%. 15% smaller if you include the power adapter.

Went to Target tonight to buy some Rubbermaid storage containers. While there I saw that they had setup some Xbox 360 demo stations. I was curious and no one was around, so I approached one and touched the unit. It has this off-white finish and appears to actually have a nice, metal case. Not plastic. But the troubling part was that out the back it exhausted an alarming amount of heat. I believe that these things will cause fires and burn people's homes down.

Just wanted to warn you guys.

Were these storage containers for your huge game collection? I use them for mine.
