Literally out of nowhere, but a really fun and informative watch if you'd like to understand a bit more about Saturn's architecture. Seems like a new channel too, but if they keep putting out stuff at this quality they should see a lot of subscriber growth I'd hope.
They also have videos on the Super Nintendo and Genesis, I gotta watch those a bit later. I love these kind of technical-focused videos going into older console and computer hardware, because the designs were so much more esoteric (and IMHO, genuinely interesting) than what we've got today or even what we're getting with the next-gen systems.
I mean sure, there's still some of that spirit of highly custom designs and silicon still around, but it's got nothing on systems from the '80s and '90s. But I can't really blame 'em homogenizing it all nowadays when standardized architectures, hardware, and software libraries already do everything so well. All the custom exotic hardware was required back then because standardized methods either didn't exist or sucked compared to custom proprietary ones, and technology as a whole was way more limited back then anyway.
Anyway don't want to go off-track on that tangent xD, just thought retro Saturn and old-school console tech fans would dig it. And again, they have one for the SNES and Genesis too that I'd put faith are just as good.
