Say something positive about a game that you hate

Less hate it and more strongly dislike it:

Resident Evil 6 is a good lesson on how not to make a triple AAA title.

I don't know about that. Game's fine by itself.

It is however, THE example of how to alienate your fanbase by turning the core mechanics of your series into the exact opposite.

Final Fantasy VIII greatly improved upon the graphics of VII.

It's strange that the most hated games are ones that are generally considered good by most people.
The hate usually comes from expectations. You're not really gonna see shovelware garbage in this thread, if you already know the game is going to be shit going into it, you won't be disappointed enough to generate a real sense of hatred.

It's the ones that other people tell you are good or oddballs out in a series that you love that you get disappointed by and really end up hating.

I'm wondering what the top 5 games would be for someone who hates Civ 5

seems like a hard game to hate. Then again he has a only on Nintendo avatar :>

I didn't 'hate' it but vanilla stripped a lot of stuff out of 4 and it had some really wonky AI. There was a good amount of backlash from fans when it released. I understand the expacs have got the game to where it should be now though (I only played vanilla)

Not outright hate, but strongly dislike: the art style in Bioshock Infinite is exquisite. All the areas had wonderful vibes, especially the beach (plus the great Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" cover) and he the boardwalk (before the fight breaks out) were just beautiful.

Destiny has great gunplay

Alpha Protocol has the best character reactivity in a voiced RPG

Bioshock 1 had a really great setting even if it was underutilized - the twist was great as well.

Dead Space 3 had some cool space zero-g sections.

The Serious Sam games seem to be technically competent on PC. I hate everything else about them, though. What an awful idea to return to the monster closet roots of first person shooters, but add even more meaningless cannon fodder enemies. I hate the generic art. I hate the macho big guns thing. I hate the smugness of its fans, who call it out as something special, when it is clearly not.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is a beautiful game with some really nice musical tracks.

Monster Hunter has some good boss designs.

Project X Zone is conceptually amazing, and seeing all of your favorite characters together is pretty cool.

Mega Man X7 has great artwork, music, and even a fairly interesting plot for a Mega Man game.

Grand Theft Auto can be fun to goof around in for ten minute bursts.

Paper Mario Sticker Star had good music, and the paper aesthetic was well executed.

Except for things. I could do without things.

Beyond: Two Souls: ehm... Uh... Ellen Page is in it?
Seriously though, I acknowledge that it offers some spectacular visuals (and that's it)

The Wolf Among Us: I actually found it to be a cool experience... BEFORE THE ENDING

Tomb Raider 2013: I was laughing my ass off when I discovered that the game awards you with exp for killing prisoners and caged dogs (that can't actually attack you)

Sometimes I get to sleep and that's pretty nice I guess.

Bushido Blade 2 has more characters and weapons than the original.

Arkham Knight has great facial animations.

Skullgirls has wonderful netcode.
