Scalebound: Controlling and switching between Drew and Thuban in combat

I saw the closed doors presentation and gameplay-wise there is not enough footage for a trailer. It was a battle with a big monster and it showed of what could do in the game with both Thuban and Drew and was described as a combo video. Altough not in the traditional sense. More like how to keep the enemy from actually doing anything rather than something like a Devil May Cry combo. Other than that it was mainly costumization RPG-stuff.

At the end of the ign video he said that they showed a clip of someone who know how to play the game properly by using the switching mechanic and it looked great.

Dunno I just love their output so for me it is a hit.

It is already all over the internet but for me it just felt like their biggest project yet. They have a clear goal with the dragons and the footage I saw looked very good. It isnt your Bayonetta or Okami but I do think the world and options this game have can make it very fun. For impressions for the dragon link you are better of searching Google though. Also kamiya clearly gives a lot of love for the game when I saw him giving the presentation

Good to hear.

Maybe Vidya Gaemz shouldn't be treated like state secrets with friendly media controlling the messaging around the game.

IF you don't think there is any problem with the game going dark after a poor showing ( but totally trust these journos guiz , the game is great , promise !!!!) then you deserves whatever crap is coming your way.

Press impressions of pre release games are always questionable

Like we're any more reliable?

There's quite a few articles going even more in depth than this video, for those interested.

Engadget has the most detailed impressions so far imo:

Everything I've read about the game makes it sound great. But that E3 boss fight demo really soured me on this. It just did not look like a fun game to play.

If it helps, JP Kellams (creative producer at platinum) went on record saying that boss fight was highly edited for E3. The fight was drastically shortened, the crab enemy still has attacks that remain unseen, and the performance was still shaky.

Still, I understand what you mean and hope they start fixing these demonstrations.

Keep this bad boy under lock and key until you can have something to show off that looks amazing and plays brilliantly.

I still believe.....

Did it look as unpolished and awkward as the last boss gameplay they showed? There's this really weird vibe the game gives off where it lacks the impact of an action game, but also doesn't seem to have the appeal a proper RPG does. They really need to work on that or people are going to keep having negative impressions.

Yes that's the combo video I'm talking about. And it did look great.

I'm not going to go into to much details.(I will post either a link to my impressions or talk more about what I saw when the impression is done) The battle was in a dark room of something like a decaying dungeon. It was just a room with Thuban and the monster fighting. When the two were fighting I got heavy kaiju vibes.(or like the fight between King Kong and the t-rex in the Jackson film.) The thing is that most of the times Drew attacked the creature it was down or pinned so it was fairly hard to tell if there really was an inpact. When an enemy is attacked when it stands you can see if he flinches but in this case the enemy was attacked when it was on the ground so I can't really tell if the enemies flinch or have hitstun. I hope that answers you question a bit.
