I'm not getting the Dragon's Dogma comparisons. Nothing in this video, outside of it having giant creatures, looks like DD.

Person on message board hears "RPG", sees a big dragon and character combat action, immediately posts DRAGONS DOGMA.

Person on message board sees big monsters in some fantasy looking field, immediately spams MONSTER HUNTER.

I blame Capcom for this! :)

Doesn't look like a Platinum or Japanese game for some reason. How did MS convince them to opt this artstyle?

I don't know. There's something that feels off about it. I like that you can control the dragon, you can order it to do specific things, it's a legitimately interesting mechanic. It's just that I feel that the main character is quite limited in his possibilities. And not even when he transformed, many moves were showed. It seemed also a bit too slow. The scale (ah!) seems big, though; also, while the framerate was quite bad, I'm not as worried as for the other things I've mentioned, since it's a Holiday 2016 release, thus it can be ironed out.

So, yeah, surprised and...midly disappointed right now. But it's possible that I was just expecting something else. Still, I'll look forward for other trailers/gameplay videos of the game.

reminded me quite a bit of the new final fantasy. looked fucking incredible to me, i loved the scale presented. obviously framerate needs work, but they have more than a year to release, i'm sure it'll be better.

Calling this an "RPG" is pretty generous at the moment. It's an action game with RPG elements and visible damage numbers. I don't expect this to appeal to the dedicated roleplaying game crowd.

You don't think there are going to be extensive leveling up mechanisms?

Looked okay. I was hoping for a action game but it looked interesting enough. The combat was a bit slow for my tastes but I'll keep an eye on it.

Damn it, why did I miss MS's conference D=

I hate myself.

This looks great and I feel terrible for missing it live.

Still the game that makes me want an XB1.

People being down on this?

Action RPG from Kamiya, looks great. As for framerate, the game is like 14-16 months away.

You don't think there are going to be extensive leveling up mechanisms?

I think there will be some leveling choices (though I'm not convinced they'll be "extensive" yet), but I count that under "RPG-elements". It's just an arbitrary definition thing, like all other genre names, but I don't imagine roleplaying much in this game. That's all I'm saying.

Looks like FFXV plus Platinum's over the top action, dragons, and 'tude. So much 'tude. Let's hope it doesn't stay an X1 exclusive forever.

Man, that looks incredible.

Mystified by the headphones on the main character, would expect a little more from Platinum if they wanted to signify he was "super cool."

The dragons look great, can't help but feel like I'd enjoy more if I were playing the dragon myself though. Controls always suck in games like that though.

The framerate means it wasn't staged, good news!

Looks like something that fell out of the PS2 era. Oof.

1) what
2) The PS2 era was awesome, would love to see more games fill in all the missing niches from back then

Platinum like never owns it's own IP, I'm sure MS is publishing. Unless you mean PC (excuse me--Windows 10). Wouldn't hold your breath either way.

Looks so awesome, love fantasy environments like this with bright colors.

Doesn't look smooth though :/

Hopefully that will be ironed out.

Man, I missed the conference and am catching up now. First the QB video, and now this one, back to back excellent looking games. I haven't seen much on this game to date, but this video looked fantastic. These things turn out to be as good as they look I'm gonna need a One.

Thought it looked amazing, combat looked up to the expected high standard but with a massive open world, can't wait.

I remember when people were complaining about frame rates for Dead Rising 3, and those were fixed a couple months before release... on a brand new console.

Relax about the framerate of a game with 12+ months of dev left, enjoy the dragons fighting earth monsters with 4 player coop?

There looks to be extensive leveling systems for the arm, transformation, the character, and the dragon. If it's open world, I imagine there is a quest system. My understanding is that there is some level of customization with the main character.

I mean barring a dialogue system, this is by all accounts a RPG.

Looks great but not Platinum great.

Its stunning, but it moves a bit choppy and doesn't have the dynamism other platinum games have. Hmmmm. I'll keep an eye on it.

Great trailer ,
game looks awesome
it's like Devil may cry/blood borne coop + The last guardian pet system (what more could I want?)

I'll wait till 2025 when Xbox one is 25 dollars then I'll buy an xbox one and the game for 5 bucks.

Other wise I need to hold myself back from buying anymore consoles, I hardly play both my PS4 and Wii u :(

Anyway, I hope you can fly around the whole game world as much as you want. My hype will be conversely lowered if you can't.

the combat and movment look very DD, that where i mostly get the vibes from,

also dragons :P
