Thank. Fuck. Jake is dead!

Finally!

I haven't watched this show in ages, but...it happened?

EDIT 2: So Olivia has already forgiven Fitz for starting a war for her? The one that killed dozens of people? Okay.

Olivia and Fitz still the messiest yet most ironclad TV couple of all time, I see.

How to Get Away With Murder is the far better Shonda-touched "black female lead is a super lawyer or whatever in the midst of twist after scintillating twist every Thursday night on ABC" show at this point anyway. I'm over your hot mess, Scandal.

Finally caught up and I can't believe Jake is alive after all that. How the hell are you a trained killer and you mess up stabbing a person multiple times and not kill them? Also come on Jake, I thought you were a badass. I love how whatshisface said the same thing to him. BTW, apparently everyone that Olivia is attracted to is a killer now. I gotta say, I didn't see that coming at the end though...

I was saying, "You had hours to kill the guy, and you just stab him repeatedly? GUT THE DUDE. JUST TAKE THE KNIFE AND CUT OUT HIS INSIDES."

I said it before, but this season has gone off the rails. This show is supposed to be about scandal in Washington and being a "fixer", not freaking murderers and shootings and whatnot. My wife doesn't even want to watch it late at night because she doesn't like watching violence before bed. It's just gone completely in the wrong direction.

Olivia/Fitz is one of those things that will never go away because too many shippers want it to happen even though Fitz is an unbelievably repugnant person.

Also, I take it that nobody ever made a Season 4 thread?

Huh. So that was a bit of a fizzle-out of a finale.

I didn't really get that conversation between Jake and Russel. Was it supposed to reveal something about Jake? That he's still intentionally stringing Olivia along? What was that revelation between them supposed to mean? Why did Russell care about Olivia being safe?

And Foxtail - is Foxtail just Millie? Or is it the meeting between Millie and Rowan?

Eh.

[edit] OH WAIT next week is the season finale? The entire time I thought this episode was the finale!

I was saying, "You had hours to kill the guy, and you just stab him repeatedly? GUT THE DUDE. JUST TAKE THE KNIFE AND CUT OUT HIS INSIDES."

It was made worse this week by Jake's conversation with Russell: "You're the best B613 agent - better than me! Rowan trained you so well!"

lol

Nope!

To all of those: no idea.

Um so wait, Cyrus was behind Olivia's kidnapping thing or what? It's hard to ever feel bad for him when bad stuff happens to him when he's proven time and again that he's a huge incompetent asshole.

I'm totally over this show. Meh. Hopefully that'll be the last I watch of 'Scandal' but I guess there's always the chance I'll go crazy and let it suck me back in.

Other thoughts:

I'm glad B613 is finally dead (until in a Shocking Twist it's revealed to have still been alive and well the whole time) and that Rowan is in jail (of course he'll eventually get out).

Olivia's perpetually blazed mom is amazing. Portia de Rossi is too.

Will Quinn shoot Huck?! who gives a shit

Is Jake really gone? Probably not.

Fitz is scum. Just...urgh.

Cyrus is horrible and I don't care what happens to him, but I have no idea if he was behind the kidnapping thing. That was too many episodes ago so I don't remember.

I think B613 is semi-dead (remember, Rowan killed everyone who knew he was Command, and then was put in jail where no B613 agents know to rescue him).

There are still B613 agents/cells who *don't* know Rowan, and they'll presumably keep operating undercover doing whatever they were already doing and waiting for orders. Also, Rowan probably still knows plenty of codes/safe houses/drop points/et cetera. If he gets out of jail, presumably he can resume control of B613 with only moderate difficulty.

I'm also pretty sure Russell is still alive, since he was notably absent from the murder montage. So he's one remaining B613 agent who also knows that Rowan is Command.

I dunno. All of the Olitz stuff is the worst, obviously, but I actually thought the way they got Rowan arrested and jailed was surprisingly clever.

He killed all of them...except for the super duper secret mega assassin he kept alive just in case!

It kind of was - I'm glad they tied it into the $2 billion thing that was hanging over everyone's heads.

Does anybody still watch this? I'm jumping in because my room mate watches it. Is it horrible?

I do. I haven't watched last night's episode yet but I thought this season has been pretty great so far.

Especially a few great episode-ending scenes, like the one between Cyrus and the prez a few weeks ago. Excellent camerawork combined with fantastic writing and dialog.

Anybody still watching? That last episode, holy crap, it almost feels like Shonda wants to kill the show or something.

That is really the only explanation for all the stuff that has happened this year. At the same time I want to see the VP win. That would be the best series finale. She wins, the truth about Fitzgerald leaks. Olivia, Fitzgerald, melly and syrus end up in jail.

They desperately need to kill of Eli, he's an anchor to all the storylines

That's really the only storyline that is at least mildly interesting. (Although I don't quite understand their timeline; Fitz only has 10 months or so left in office but their campaigns are only starting now? Then again, of all of Scandal's illogical inconstiencies, that's probably the least glaring.)

But, yeah, I have no idea what the writers are trying to achieve. Almost everyone hates Papa Pope, Jake, and B613, so, of course, Joe Morton becomes a regular and Jake somehow suddenly is director of the NSA (not that it would change anything, going by the last episode). Cyrus has people just flat-out murdered and children kidnapped (and suddenly works with Tom and that other dude, whose name I can't remember).

The Attorney General of the United States more or less is a callboy now, half the characters have virtually nothing to do... what else? Oh, right, Huck almost seems to be the most relatable and normal guy at this point.

I don't understand why Cyrus wanted to have that candidate killed. He did, right? His reactions when the dude survived seemed to imply he did want him dead, and Cyrus was not just setting him up to be a hero.

No it was part of his plan to get the candidates name out there because no one knew who he was remember.

That's what I thought too, but still you don't sick Secret Service on the dude with the expectation the dude will survive. Tom had no intention of letting him live, did he?

Anyone still watching? Olivia went full psycho

Jake seems to have an awful lot of time to sit around and eat home cooked meals with eli. I guess being the head of the NSA isn't a particularly strenuous job

My wife is. She ran down what has happened the last few episodes. I told her it was so stupid. She thinks it's ridiculous too but didn't appreciate me calling something she watched stupid. Lesson learned.

For the love of christ they need to kill off eli
