Definitely interested in this game. Added 5+ games from Prime Matter (Embracer) that either sounded great via the description and just waiting to see gameplay or like Scars Above, saw gameplay that has me interested.

To be fair this was before I played the demo and it has since made it to the top of my"most anticipated games" list. Really can't wait for this one and I hope they come out with a special edition of some kind so I can snap that up on day one.

Yes and no. During the demo I had some issues with one particular creature type and one boss was kinda annoying too.

I don't mind though, a bit of challenge makes it interesting.

this release is strange. Doesn’t have a profile for “coming soon” at OpenCritic.com… plus, half the places I see a coming-soon nod seems to only mention it coming to the last generation consoles.

Amazon has the PS5 physical for release on the 28th. The digital version doesn't even have a release date and you can't purchase it, so I have no clue what's going on with this launch.

Not if you like a challenge and roguelites.

The game is not even THAT hard when you have the right stuff, some upgraded weapons melts everything on sight.

Character constantly muttering to themself to create immersion.
Stranded on planet with toxic looking shit, while dressed in a tank top. I mean c’mon, it makes sense for Lara Croft - not this situation .

Got a PS5 lately and... Returnal is absolutely amazing, the buttery smooth controls, the art-direction, the music, the sound/audio, the balls to the wall action... everything just "clicked" for me and I hate rogue likes/lites, just give it a go if you have a PS5 (or PC).

What’s “rest mode” mean?

I mean, I also hate the "die, repeat all over again" thing but, for me personally, it ticks all the right boxes aesthetically wise that I can overlook that.

The "rest mode" is basically a checkpoint/save , when you activate it you can close the game safely and continue playing from that point when you start/boot up the game again.You do lose the checkpoint upon doing so though
