1) As a console platform holder, they have to be seen as responsible.

2) Internet Gambling is illegal in the not-so-free-country US anyway.

Are you counting PSN or XBLA games? Are you counting Virtual Console roms?
Yup /\-/\ Never bought any of that since I don't have a 360,PS3, or Wii only a Pc. I've bought stuff off Steam though.

Aren't XBL snd PSN games in a different category than a micro-transaction or horse armor?:lol :lol :lol

Internet gambling is illegal in the states. The only reason sites get away with it is because they operate out of other countries and law enforcement just hasn't done anything about the ones that operate here.

Still, a casino purely for fun would be nice.

Very happy to see Home as a distinct element from 'Store' and 'Online Games', instead of a replacement.

Not entirely..the TRC can and does oblige them to use certain features. Hopefully if there is a 'Home services' module (perhaps including those mention 'in-game phone calls'), it will be part of the TRC for all online games to support it.

Thats kind of crazy when they don't even make you support the friends list and voice chat.

I'm thinking we might start seeing main menus in games which look like:

New Game
Load Game
Options
Home

When you choose the Home option, it would probably prompt you for confirmation since you're leaving the game and if you confirm it could just take you right to the pavilion they've set up. And give you a free hat. That would be pretty cool

Why not just add a "Home" option to the PS button menu just like the "Home" button on a PSP? That would be for simply returning home... as in like "let me out of this game and start Home", but to exit an EA game into EA's pavillion or whatever, yeah, that's be nice to have that ability (minus the EA part and the requisite microtransactions for each step, turning left/right, interacting with anything, and of course the "viewing" tax for even having the lights turned on in the pavillion...).

Home is optional. It's not going to be packaged as a part of a firmware update and people have to download it separately, so there's the possibility some what have it, even though it's free. As such, it probably wouldn't make sense to implement it on the PS Button menu.
