I thought it was just mei feel uncomfortable looking at that
....and we are one step closer to a "The Book of the New Sun" movie/show.
It's like staring into my own soul
The first thing I want to do is heat the stuff to 6500K and examine the spectrum.
Sorry guys the material is not colored black, but because it doesn't reflect light you can't take a picture of it.
Doesn't mean we have to let it react with something! Although 6500K is probably way too high regardless. 2000K would be good enough.Well, it's made out of carbon after all...

Those saying that it'll be a good stealth material, don't you think an blob of pure black is going to be more noticeable than one with actual camouflage? This seems more useful as a heat sink than any stealth uses.
That reads like the reason why all black, is black.
They're probably coating stealth planes with this stuff right now...
this is unsettling to look at even in photos
like the visual equivalent of an anechoic chamber
Might be useful during night, particularly for flying stuff.
This is going to revolutionize so many things, as long as it doesn't have any crippling downfalls

99.965% isn't 100%
.
So are black holes the only things that don't reflect light at all?
Or it might make it look like the bird shit is floating on said car.I'm trying to imagine how terrible it will look after a bird shits on it or there's a slight smudge of grease / dirty / dust, ruining the effect completely.
"Warning, may cause insanity"
I like the way you think.I want a door made out of this. Ill have red leds behind the door so the light comes through the cracks but the material itself absorbs all. Then I'll invite some neighbors over.
What if an entire room consisted of this material and you turned the light on? Everything would look black, but would it be a lot darker because none of the walls reflect light?

I think you would be able to see the lightbulb and nothing else?
