If you look around, (well, at least in Belgium) you can find other deals cheaper than the MK bundle. My sis bought the ZeldaWW bundle for 250 (last stock), got MK8 for another 55 plus Pikmin 3 for free. Meaning, she paid €305 and got 3 awesome games for the price.

Hm cheapest I can find is the Mario Kart bundle for 288. Also pretty good. Can't seem to find anything lower than that for any other bundles.

Anybody know a good 250 euro deal in Holland?

I'm grabbing a Wii U this Friday, plan on getting MK8, Super Mario 3D and Zombi-U. Anything else I should buy? This is my first Nintendo console since N64 ...lol

Ummm, pick up that Wind Waker. Amazingly fun game with one of the best art styles in history (toon Link is best Link) with many of the problems that hurt the original release fixed or at leasted minimized.

Also Pikmin 3.

As an owner of WW on GC, can you go into any more detail? Have they added anything to make it worth the extra expense (I do not care about graphical improvements)?

Oh God where do I start?

As far as WiiU goes:

The three you're getting
Wind Waker HD
Pikmin 3
Wonderful 101
Splinter Cell Blacklist
Need for Speed Most Wanted U

Wii games:

Galaxy 1 and 2
Xenoblade
Metroid Prime Triogy
No More Heroes 1 and 2
Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition
MadWorld
Tatsunoko v. Capcom

Those are the essentials IMO but there's so much more. That will keep you busy for some time.

I also adore the Call of Duty games on both the Wii and WiiU, but if you've already played them probably not worth playing them again.

Then there's Skyward Sword/Twilight Princess neither of which I have finished but are both good.

Holy shit. Got Wind Waker through the MK8 deal and this game is gorgeous. Like seriously great. This art style is just fantastic in HD. It might motivate me to actually finish a Zelda title.

I believe its the reason why I "only" played through it 1 time, and never even finished Skyward Sword, but all other Zeldas have multiple play throughs.

And that's what scares me about Zelda Wii U anime/celshade ish style in 2015.

Yeah I think both styles work. This game in particular I was just saying looks fantastic. I've missed out on Zelda. I only started playing the series with the OoT remake on 3ds. I just never played it back when I was young with the NES and SNES.

288 for the MK bundle is pretty good. Gamemania (Belgium) had the bundle at 279 at the MK8 launch (also a temp promotion) but all prices here are now back to 300. Anyway, those 12 euro's you saved, that's about the price you pay for Deus Ex (Amazon UK) or Child of Light (e-shop). You can even pick up ZombiU or Earthbound (VC) for less.

Wonderful 101 is simply a must have. I don't think any review will explain how insane that game is once you really get into it. It's a deep, action packed hilarious game. It truly is similar to Bayonetta, which is a very good thing. Personally I think it's a bit more complicated, but the reward you get for finally figuring everything out is pure awesomeness. The main thing that sold me on the game besides everyone saying how great the game is, was watching this guy's tutorials

This This This ^^^

Just think of the most spectacular end of game boss fight you've ever faced and then realise that the first end of level boss fight is more spectacular than that, and that every single boss fight after that gets more and more spectacular than the previous one. You'll find yourself saying over and over again, 'How the FUCK are they going to manage to top THAT..?!!?!?'.

The game is fucking bonkers lol

Yea think I'll just get it, looked around and the only ones that are cheaper are basic bundels. Might get it thursday so I get it delivered on friday then!

So, have had a Wii U for about a month now, figure it's time to post impressions.

First, the haul:

-I find the UI to be atrocious. I like the idea of the Mii community but the backgrounds and gigantic square icons look really ugly. Icons look nice on the touchpad but when you swap screens to where your menu is on the TV it looks kind of cheap.
-The latest update really improves the speed of starting up a game. Really liking the speed.
-I appreciate Nintendo's improvements from an account perspective. The eshop is nice and its easy to make friends with strangers on Miiverse if I happen to like their posts.
-Speaking of Miiverse, it's surprisingly pleseant. I find myself spending a few minutes on miiverse every time I turn the console on.
-Problem w/ miiverse is that it is incredibly slow. Should be instantaneous getting in and out of it...I hate seeing that initial loading screen...
-No problems at all with the hardware being a refurb unit. :) Wouldnt even be able to tell if the box wasn't different.
-Console is super tiny, kind of pleasant that it isn't so dominating.
-Touchpad feels cheap, the buttons feel odd, and it has horrible battery life but...
-I love off screen play! Already used to this with Vita but it's even easier to do with Wii U. I find myself doing off screen more than on the TV as it frees up the TV for other members of the family, or allows me to multitask.
-The whole limited/full RGB thing is a huge disappointment. Even beyond that, lots of games, even the OS of the Wii U looks really pixelated on a 40+ inch TV.
-Those special edition wiimotes are really well made.

The games:
-As a free pack in, Nintendoland is fine. The games are solid. I am not big on minigame collections though. Just personal preference. Also found the controls walking around the main area to be awkward.
-SM3DWorld is obviously a well made game. I am just not a fan of this style and will pick up a full on 3D Mario ALA sunshine over this.
-Mario Kart is REALLY REALLY good in terms of fun factor. However, once again, the graphics only look impressive to me on the Wii U pad or the smaller 19 inch tv in my room. In the living room, everything looks pixelated and low poly to me. That's fine so long as the game in fun, but it's other problem is that it is SEVERELY lacking in content - battle mode, lack of characters, MKTV is a joke, online is alright but lack of voice chat when there are parental controls built in to the system, Nintendo is really holding itself back. Hopefully DLC/Amiibo can correct some of this. I am going to be harsher on this game than others and give it a 7/10.
-Biggest disappointment is probably Wii Sports Club. Just makes me want to play real table tennis. Online is a buggy mess. Thankfully, they gave one day free and I easily decided it isn't worth the $10 per sport, although I only wanted bowling and tennis.
-Biggest surprise is Wii Fit U. Thanks to the fit meter, I tend to log on to the game every day to log my credits. Plus, despite the fact that there are a lot of duds, there's always a game or two to enjoy in the overall package. ~8/10
-Wind Waker looks beautiful in HD. :)
-Next purchase is going to be Wonderful 101, heard good things and I need a quirky game. Loved viewtiful joe during the gamecube days.
-I think Smash Bros is going to justify my Wii U purchase for the year. Really looking forward to it.
-For 2015 considering Splatoon, Kirby (loved Canvas Curse on DS and the claymation looks nice), possibly Xenoblade, and of course Zelda.
-Trying to pick between Villager and Pitt for my Amiibo. lol

They really need to announce Animal Crossing for Wii U. :( Wanted that to be a 2015 title...

So I have about 190euro store credit for CEX, they sell the Wii U for 210euro, second hand. I think I'll buy one soon with one game (maybe WWHD, maybe W101), then get Mario Kart 8 from Amazon or somesuch and get the free game from that. So a Wii U and 3 games for not a whole lot of cash.

Wii games:

Galaxy 1 and 2
Xenoblade
Metroid Prime Triogy
No More Heroes 1 and 2
Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition
MadWorld
Tatsunoko v. Capcom

Those are the essentials IMO but there's so much more. That will keep you busy for some time.
I'd add Little King's Story and Trauma Center/Team to the list of Wii essentials. The former is a Pikmin-esque (except with more depth) strategy game that's every bit as charming as Nintendo's own spin on the genre as it was designed with the utmost care, and it's evident that LKS was the dream game of the creative mind behind it all. I really wish that plans regarding a sequel could be realized, but it's not meant to be... Trauma Center I'd recommend if only for its unique gameplay premise; you're hard-pressed to find anything like it anywhere else (excluding the OG DS of course) and both games fully utilizes the Wiimote without it feeling like a gimmick. Trauma Team even has multiplayer, though I could be remembering wrong here.

Both are easily overlooked, which is a damn shame. They shouldn't be forgotten when compiling a list of worthwhile Wii exclusives.
