Saw this on Autoblog. HYPE.
Damn. How did you find your Transportation Design program? Is that the field your going into or working in now?Shogmaster said:"Trans" is shorthand for Transportation Design, a subset of Industrial Design major. Two main Trans programs in this country are Art Center in Pasadena, and CCS ("College of Creative Arts" now, "Center for Creative Studies" when I went in the 90's) in Detroit.
Both programs are taught by professional car designers at night (My studio classes were 7 to 10pm). They work during the day and teach at night. At CCS, we had instructors from big three (GM, Ford, Chrysler). Art Center gets instructors that mostly work in the SoCal studios of Asian and European car companies. This makes these two school's programs more relevant than any program taught by designers that have retired years or decades back.

Say what now? Also, you make it sound as if the buyers of the 599XX and the FXX aren't aware that they are investing in Ferrari basically, and willingly participating in a test programme, as if they were promised some sort of Road car instead to accompany it. It's not some multimillion dollar bait and switch. And if you want the 599XX, you can always just go for the 599 GTO. Jalopnik posted up a hot pic of it today.Dave Inc. said:Posting "Stance, bro" pics should be a bannable offense.
Ferrari is losing a lot of interest from me for the way they handle their business. That awesome 599XX posted above? If it's anything like the FXX based on the Enzo then sure, you can buy one...but you can only drive it on our track on days we say and you can't take it home with you. So really you don't "own" anything, cool?

enzo_gt said:Zonda post! A lot of sexy pictures from press releases, but you can find those easy, and it makes a lighter upload to disclude them, so there won't be many of those:
Such a beautiful car. There was no way the successor could live up to the incredible design of this one, but the botched catfish design makes it like night and day when you compare the looks of the two.
I already posted it, but in this case I have to post it again.enzo_gt said:You'd take cream over
Or yellow, corsa or rubino? YOU CRAZY!

The latter was my fear but if this is true then I guess we'll have to live with it. It looks better in red but I can't get over the funky front bumper that looks like it's about to collapse, the straight up oddly designed vent on the side, and the 430-esque air scoops on the sides. It just looks like a clusterfuck of design. Otherwise, I like the back and front, it's just a lot of the lines don't come together very well.Spaceman Spiff said:It's true, the Huayra will likely never beat the Zonda's looks-- the C12/C12-S set an amazing standard, and the design peaked with the F. Just about every other contemporary supercar is a wallflower next to a Zonda.
The new car's unfortunate nose job was inevitable given the cooling requirements for the twin-turbo V12 (another regrettable change, but it was the only way to meet US emissions regs), and stricter crash/pedestrian safety standards. It isn't nearly as offensive in motion, and the Huayra looks worlds better in colors other than silver:
Also, your epic sequence of pics shows how far Pagani evolved the Zonda within a decade. Imagine what the Huayra could be like in a few years' time given similarly continuous development. That shit will be face-meltingly awesome.
