Sega announces Full Auto 2 exclusively for PS3

:lol An analogy would be Xbox360 and the Game Devs are dating and having sex. But for some reason the Game Devs are going behind the X360's back and are cheating on it with the PS3.

In that case Full Auto is a skank riddled with herpes and she'll just give it to the PS3 aswell! :D

In my speculation the real story here is almost certainly that Pseudo was working on PS3 port of the Xbox 360 game from the beginning and expecting to release it in June, but with the PS3 delay they have some extra time to add content and decide to tag a "2" onto the title to try to generate sales as a new game and not a port.

The PS3 delay came as a surprise to a lot of Western developers and they simply aren't big enough of a studio to have two completely different games in development at once. I'd expect this to happen with at least a couple more titles but in most cases even from this fall on we'll see the Prince of Persia effect (for example Rainbow Six: Vegas don't expect much of a difference between PS3/360).

Full Auto was actually a pretty cool game so should be a good PS3 game to pick up - but the PS3 "western" focus continues to strengthen...where are the eluded Japanese powerhouses that you would normally expect to carry PS3 over 360?

Now all the Xbots think Full Auto is a bad game. :lol

This would only work if there was support for it after it came out. There was hype until the demo killed most of it. Then once the full game released, hype was dead.

Please pull up the Full Auto topic for some self-ownage.

what makes this even more interesting is pseudo interactive... the people behind full auto is a canadian developer. Up here in canada the Xbox brand absolutely dominates the playstation brand. They don't want their games to sell in their homeland it seems. :P

I live in Canada. No, it doesn't. But if you say so.

:lol :lol

Full Auto was nice but it was never vital.... Daytona USA, Nights, Panzer dragoon Series, Condemned, Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter and Sonic these are examples of vital!

:lol

God, you're thick.

Wonder what's going to be announced tomorrow..

So far it's been....

Apr 25: Virtua Tennis 3 (Xbox 360, PS3)
Apr 26: Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (Wii)
Apr 27: World Pool Championship 2007 (PS2) / World Pool Challenge 2007 (PSP)
Apr 28: SEGA Rally Revo (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
May 2: Full Auto 2: Battlelines (PS3)

Not bad so far, but this news about Full Auto 2 isn't exactly special :\ come on SEGA, announce NiGHTS!

Silikon Knights and Bizarre Creations? Those are still left to announce.

Full Auto 2 could be pretty cool if they tweaked things so that the focus was more on the combat.

How many teams does SK have? I figured they'd have their hands full with Too Human.

They have their biggest team ever working on a game, working in Too Human, but since Denis DyAck said that the Sega game would be something very different....maybe it doesn't need many people.

This reminds me of the exclusive Crimson Sea Xbox to exclusive Crimson Sea 2 PS2 shift, which just meant a shift of pathetic sales figures from one platform to the next and yawns all around.

And something tells me Full Auto "2" may be more like the Wreckless ports, where they merely added mildly to the same game (ignoring the graphics issues). If it does end up being better...then maybe I'll shift the "pick it up down the line at $20" list to include the PS3 version instead.

Note: I actually own and more or less like both Crimson Sea games.

Who cares about Full Auto. But in general, this is why gaming is retarded.

-Three proprietary gaming platforms (home consoles)
-Publishers/developers putting exclusives on multiple systems, so fans need to buy more than one system just to get the best of their favorite game makers
-And now a game exclusive to one console is getting an exclusive another to another console in the same generation

Stuff like this is why, to paraphrase Kaz Hirai, living room entertainment is still in the console gaming ghetto.

ONE CONSOLE FUTURE

:lol

So b/c the game sucked on 360 and didn't sell at all, they say fuck you we're goin to PS3!!! That's funny. The part about award-winning is what cracked me up though.

This has to be SEGA's decision, I can't see Sony paying for this.

:lol :lol @ Announcement..

Sega has jumped the Microsoft ship and joining the Sony bandwagon

They've jumped ship a few times, it's just hard to pinpoint at which exact moment there was a shark between ships.

The primary reason why I lost interest in FA after playing the XBL demo was due to the way the cars seemed to lack weight, friction, or any measurable connection to the road. If they fix that, I'd be willing to give it another look, but I think it's still a fundamentally limited property in its current execution, so I'm not sure what's the point of a PS3 re-release without a more significant makeover.

Exactly. I think I got 650 achievement points from the game when I rented it GameFly so it's not like I didn't give the game a chance. I loved the premise, but the execution was poor. The online mode had some real promise, but once again it was executed very poorly.

Oh well, give me my next-gen Twisted Metal please.

The way I see it, Full Auto 2 is the warning shot that Sega is firing across Sony's bow.. they're already loading the tubes with the motherload... Shadow the Hedgehog 2 (tonights announcement? ):lol

Sega and Microsoft aren't working on a game for Microsoft's console.. they're working on one for Sony's.. sabotage!

It's like the two platforms are trying to outdo each other for the shittiest looking game. First Fatal Inertia on PS3, then Gundam on 360, now this. What's next?
