SEGA announces YAKUZA ZERO Traditional Chinese localization

I only wish they would give us broken Asia English at least, since half of Asia doesn't understand Chinese. Asia has much more tolerance about the whole "Japanese culture" than NA, and in some cases, fully embrace it for what it is. Trying to expand to the audience there would be a smart move, given how the whole Japanese dorama is a huge fuss over there, and Yakuza fits quite nicely among those.

Yeah, it would be nice if they could extend Asian English into the mix too.

C'mon, Sony, Malaysia is a great place to have multilingual talent of reasonably high-quality Chinese/English literate readers/speakers, at half the cost of whoever you have at Taiwan/HK, Korea or Singapore.

Of course, Singapore's better, but Singapore's an expensive place for talent.sa

I bought the fucking shite that was Dead Souls and you are doing this Sega?

I'm done with you. I'm fucking done. Fucking done with you.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit drinking.

Maybe I should start an XSEED of Asia. Could probably become huge later.

I agree. The west are not getting these games because they have rejected these style of games.

I hate to generalise, but one just needs to look at the reactions of some GAFers whenever 'those style of games' pop up in a Sony conference, and they're baffled why a major corporation is willing to show Summer Lesson and use the word 'moe' in a press conference.

That is the difference in cultural tolerance/acceptance.

And even that's a broad generalisation that doesn't really reflect each cultural nuance across different Asian regions.

damn I love yakuza, and now we are goi ng to lack not only yakuza 5 but also yakuza 0

that's 2 games from the main series we will never play :(

But not for occidental market, thanks SEGA.

Where is my VF6,good Sonic,Yakuza 5 and the others?

Only Want Shenmue Hd remaster, it´s very easy.

I am Sega fan but i'm starting to hate this company.

its ok guys, one day they will announce yakuza 0, 5, and 1&2 hd for a western release. Just keep your heads up and...and..itll happen. Right guys?

My hate toward SEGA keeps growing...

No really, I feel like this pic. I can't help myself, I hate them more than anything right now.

I am Sega fan but i'm starting to hate this company.

Direct your hate or your love to this place instead. If you are loud enough, maybe they will listen. I always see people shout at their lung about each of their announcement of games or non-English-localization, but I have yet seen anyone actually bothers to act on it enough to make them feel the need to listen.

I really hope people aren't just complaining for the sake of complaining.

I can't hate Sega for this. I can only lament that too few people in English speaking countries share my taste in games to make localising them viable.

It doesn't even phase me anymore. I've accepted that Yakuza is more or less finished in the states. It's a huge bummer, but it is what it is. I bought every game that released overseas. Not much else I can do.

Dead Souls is still ass though and whether it's true or not I place the blame of the series failing for good over here entirely on that game.

You people always making excuses for Sega. What's the deal with PSO2 then? Do we not like action RPGs anymore either?

If they can localize a terrible anime rhythm game filled with terrible anime music then they can localize Yakuza or PSO.

Is this even gonna sell, considering it's about the Yakuza instead of the Triads?

SEA market are some of the biggest consumers of J-drama, so yeah.

And frankly, Triad-related games are a far harder sell to the HK/Taiwanese market than you would think.

Because the HK/Taiwan scene of triad-related films are filled with notable, high-quality titles that have shaped the expectations of the triad genre, Asia won't give a shit about a lousy quality triads game that doesn't live up to the visual imagery set by films like Infernal Affairs, Drug War, A Better Tomorrow and As Tears Go By.

Putting your opinion aside, no, they are not even the same. If you have play Project Diva, you should know it. The amount of localization effort put into it is almost non existence, and the sale is better than they expect, I'd reckon.

I doubt they would give a shit. I wrote a sarcastic tweet to Gio Corsi because he's the head of that stupid #buildingthelist thing and a western localization of Yakuza has been asked hundreds of time. Is there anything they can do about it? If they can't, do you think that some tweets will change the situation? Sarcasm, a sad one, that's all I've left with this SEGA and Yakuza story.

Kenzan, Ishin, 5 and now Zero ... I'm so depressed. I can't even blame Sega, since the goddamn thing doesn't sell here.

BUY THE YAKUZA GAMES, PEOPLE !!
I haven't bought Dead Souls

If you gave up, then fine, there is nothing else to mourn. I'm just tired of people keep repeating the same thing knowing it won't change shit or doing nothing.

Now I'm just waiting for the result of Digimon Vita localization. I'm just glad I didn't give up on the whole Tales of Heart R.

Lol wtf... Why not just have an English translation so the rest of Asia
and the West
can play? That's what SE does with their games.

It's funny how hard Yakuza/PSO fans continually get screwed over in the West. I'm also past the point of being upset and just shrug now.

Not gonna lie, I laughed and figured this was going to happen due to other titles getting Chinese localization announcements aswell.

Am I peeved about it? yea, a bit, but I've already decided to import the games from now on and just learn Japanese (which I've been meaning to do for ages).

They tried 5 times with this series. If it was in any way successful we'd still be getting more. The amount of translation needed for a Yakuza game is vastly higher then Hatsune Miku.

Do people really think Sega don't release games over here just to spite us or something? If that was the case we wouldn't get Project Diva either. I do think they are an overly conservative company in general but I see their logic with this series.
