Sega Genesis classics pack currently $2.62 on Amazon (Steam, includes 50 games)

Isn't this basically the same content as the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection from last gen?

Not really.

VS

SUGC has 9 exclusive arcade/SMS games.

SMDCC has:
Landstalker, Revenge of Shinobi, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Wonder Boy in Monster World, both ToeJam & Earl games, Gunstar Heroes, Light Crusader, Alien Soldier, Wonder Boy 3: Monster Lair, Columns 3, Bio-Hazard Battle, Galaxy Force 2, Space Harrier 2, and Crack Down, Sword of Vermillion, and Shadow Dancer
(Although you have to get a separate pack a few of the games. It's a bit of a mess). I have one set with 50 games, and another with just 4 (Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic 1, 2, 3+K)

Both are fantastic compilations.

Also I don't see the big deal with this collection being Steam activated. It's not like there are any achievements or cards.

how the shit is this unavailable it's digital dammit

They sold the allotted number of keys at the given price. Figured it was that so I grabbed ASAP, and got a 1 buck mp3 credit to boot.

Thanks for posting btw OP!

Depending on how long this sale was pegged to last, they may get more keys in if Sega approves them. At least, that's how it worked in the past.

And no Phantasy Star 1 it looks like. No great loss but no reason for me to buy it either.

It was Master System/GameGear-only in the US

Strange, seeing as they saw fit to include both Monster Land 1 and 2. Speaking of which: do these emulated versions of Monster Land(s) include the FM audio or are they just PSG?

Also: Phantasy Star 1 apparently has a Mega Drive version. Might not have been retail, though.

Just to confirm (I'm at home now) you can add the games from both packs into the same "data" directory. So I have "Sega Genesis and Mega Drive Classics" in Steam, but I copied over everything from the 48 game pack into the Steam-based 50-game one, and avoided overwriting anything because all duplicate files were the same (except "g0005.pak" which I renamed to "g0057.pak"), giving me 57 games:

IMO there's not much point in having both (unless you're a completionist) but considering the number of games in total, buying both really isn't all that expensive.

I am trying to use Madcatz SF4 Xbox 360 fightpad. I installed the Win 7 32 bit drivers and Windows recognizes the controller as an SF4 fightpad. All of the buttons work in the device test in the windows control panel. The Xbox guide button brings up the toast that says that Windows recognizes the controller as the player one Xbox controller.

I would like to use this controller since it is the closest thing I have to a USB Genesis controller. The Sega Classics options menu doesn't give me the option to use this controller. It only seems to allow me to use a keyboard. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? What controllers are you guys using?

The type of controller I am attempting to use:

The 48 Mega pack ($4.88) and the Classic Game Pack 1-5 ($2.62) share the majority of games, but each has exclusive titles.

Exclusives,

48 Mega Pack:

Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Sonic 3D Blast
Sonic Spinball
Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
ToeJam & Earl
ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron

Classic Game Pack 1-5:

Beyond Oasis / The Story of Thor
Dynamite Headdy
Golden Axe 3
The Revenge of Shinobi
Streets of Rage 3
Wonderboy in Monster World
Vectorman 2
Phantasy Star 2
Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom
Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium

Thanks for the info. Does an all in one pack exist? Doesn't make sense to buy both and have dupes.
