Almost every game shown at State of Play that's coming out this year is set to release in September. Some even on a same day. I get that they all want to move away from GTA 6, but that was a bit over the top.

- 03 Sep The Blood of Dawnwalker
- 08 Sep: Halloween: The Game
- 09 Sep: Phantom Blade
- 15 Sep: Wolverine
- 17 Sep: Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter
- 17 Sep: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV
- 22 Sep: Dune
- 24 Sep: SH Town falls
- 24 Sep: Control
- 25 Sep: Onimusha
- 01 Oct: Dynasty Warriors
- 01 Oct: Rayman
- 02 Oct: Ace Combat 8
- 06 Oct: STAR WARS: Galactic Racer™
- 23 Oct: CoD MW4
- 29 Oct: Phantom Blade

@ thx Victhemic for the list.

September - October.

My backlog is toast..........I dunno how people have time to say gaming is dead, gaming is headed to a crash etc etc doom and gloom.

Bro I just dont have enough time to get through this shit.......i need to break a bone again so I can just relax at home playing videogames for like a month or three/

The blast wave of GTAVI has pushed a lot of titles to early 2027. That compression before and after in going to have unfortunate victims that aren't as bad as their sales are going to be.

also... who knows what the economy is going to do over the next 9 months, other than inflation is going to continue, tech is going to be hard to get and overpriced, and there will likely be more layoffs to boot. unit sales might just naturally trend down anyways.

Ironic, that they're all scampering to avoid GTA6 because it'll eat into their sales only to all pick the same fortnight to release their games, which will end up cannibalizing each other's sales.

Onimusha, Phantom Blade 0 and Ace Combat 8 all look like real cool games to me.

Specially AC8! Can't wait for a sensory overload of MISSILE MISSILE FOX TWO AAAAA while my team-mates go through a psychotic episode. KINO

Noticed this as well.
Wolverine, Onimusha and Phantom Blade 0 are must haves for me. Also the new Silent Hill looks great and Rayman, Ace Combat.

But people won't have the money and time to play all this stuff at launch.
They're trying to avoid the GTAVI black hole but they could damage themselves even more by all releasing in the same month rather than trying to offer something different to people not interested in GTA.

I'll get Phantom Blade 0 and Onimusha. Wolverine and Control Resonant I'll get later. If Zelda - Ocarina of Time also release this month then I'll probably just get Onimusha alongside Zelda. I didn't buy Dynasty Warriors Origins yet, so don't know when I'll even look at DW3.

There are a lot of action games that are not soulslikes, thank god some diversification.

Rayman, I don't know, this could be an entire new game.

I think I gotta a somewhat comprehensive list:

- 15 Sep: Wolverine
- 22 Sep: Dune
- 24 Sep: SH Town falls
- 24 Sep: Control
- 25 Sep: Onimusha
- 01 Oct: Dynasty Warriors
- 01 Oct: Rayman
- 02 Oct: Ace Combat 8
- mid Oct: No rest for the wicked
- 23 Oct: COD MW4
- 29 Oct: Phantom Blade 0

All these games are gonna hurt each others sales so much. I honestly would even wait till 2027 for some of them, even my favourites, just so they could enjoy healthy sales...

Still more of a fair fight going against each other than facing the final boss of videogames sales, GTAVI is gonna do so much damage to anyone standing near its release date, it's gonna be at the center of everything and extract all the air and money out everyone else

Phantom Blade 0 has been delayed to 29th of October. I just updated my list.

I'll be doing my part and picking up at least 5 of those games.

I may need to take some time off work in September. Or just retire.

There's a chance that Forza Horizon 6 is released during the same period on PS5 too.

Like I said in the SoP thread:

The other takeaway is that with GTA in November and the new CoD moved to the end of October every fucking game is coming out in September/early October

Wolverine, Control, No Rest for the Wicked, Rayman and Phantom Blade 0 are all day 1, Dawn Walker, Onimusha and CoD maybe day 1, Ace Combat, Star Wars Racer and SH eventually. This has been another banger year with lots of great stuff still on the horizon, good times.

Control Resonant is gonna be a massive flop. Remedy's games just don't sell. I wouldn't be surprised if this next flop leads to layoffs or them getting bought out.

They really need to change that release date. It's gonna be devoured by Onimusha and Wolverine. And it's a shame cause Remedy make bangers for people who don't mind thinking or reading a bit while they play, they deserve bigger sales.
