Sequels you want, but seem unlikely.

I've got another one!

It's pretty much the only Capcom fighting game that Capcom has never acknowledged existed since.

I dunno, man. Completely removed from its reputation and nostalgia (I have no nostalgia for it), it's really fuckin' good.

It definitely was when I played it as a kid. We would rent it over and over because we had never played anything like it and it was hugely fun. I guess I am just skeptical that a new iteration would mean that much today, not to mention Techno Soft isn't exactly around to make it.

wow... the OP had the exact same two top sequels I want in the same order.

I won't give up on these two, I have strong feelings we will get part 2 at some point.

but the ones I want and afraid for not getting them at all are:

Great games with flaws, that could've been corrected in a sequel. Too bad that Microsoft isn't into J-RPGs anymore.
Not sure if it's what you're after but Blue Dragon did get two sequels on the DS.

Yes yes yes yes yes.
I was so disappointed when I saw that Goemon trailer with current gen graphics and it turned out to be for a pachinko machine.

Road Rash
Desert/Jungle... Strike
Toejam & Earl
Ultima
Master of Magic
Subwar 2050
Heavy Gear
Strike Commander
Metal Wolf Chaos

More than a specific sequel, I want to relive the days of BG2, Torment, FO2 and other deep overhead RPGs that weren't about action and didn't make a significant portion of the gameplay based on navigating through 3D spaces.

Also Shenmue 3.

Ctrl + F "Legend of Dragoons 2"

GAF =/, I still BELIEVE!, it's real to me dammit ; ;

"Crush Dance", <3 the move + GAF poster

Folklore

Mirror's Edge 2: Electric Shuffle Boogaloo

Summoner 3. Loved the first two on PS2. With THQ's losses mounting, however, Summoner 3 is all but impossible :( (besides they'd never make another anyway)

I don't think Killer7 should get a sequel. It was a good game, but more importantly, it was one of a kind.

Super Mario RPG 2.

Nintendo, it is time to reunite Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser with Geno and Mallow. Include more of the classic Mushroom enemies and environments while your at it along with a bundle of power-ups Mario has gained over the years.

Perhaps developer AlphaDream should handle the project given its experience with the Mario & Luigi RPG series. It can produce great looking graphics, simple but satisfying gameplay, and amusing dialogue. I mean, Square Enix can't exactly be trusted these days.

Starfox 64 sequel

A reboot is necessary when a franchise has lost part of its soul.

Arwing, submarine and landmaster combat is where it's at! Keep the focus on character interaction through entertaining dialogue and less on storytelling. We want to take on team StarWolf and turn Andross's arrogant lackeys into space dust. Oh and get rid of Krystal!

Can you imagine how good this game would look in HD on the Wii's successor ?

Shadowrun (2007)

I loved the mechanics of this game and there really isn't another multiplayer shooter that replicates it. Using Xray vision to spot a lone enemy one floor above you, teleporting up through the floor behind them, taking them out with a samurai sword, blocking bullets from that guy that came around the corner you didn't notice, then teleporting through the wall to escape. Good times.

This game had the perfect storm against it though. It was one of the (if not the) first 1st party Xbox360 games priced at $60. It was admittedly content bare for that price especially considering multiplayer centric games without a campaign weren't the norm on consoles at the time. It was released only for Vista during the height of the Vista hate. It was ushering in Games for Windows Live which was terrible. Franchise elitists hated the changes it made to the franchise as well as hated it for not being an RPG (which ironically destroyed any chance for an RPG to be made any time soon). It didn't help that the main face for the game was a little openly antagonistic against these fans. It just had everything going against it despite the fact that the actual game and mechanics were solid and fun.

I really think a sequel could have addressed the main problem which was that it really shouldn't have been $60 with as little content as it had. Either a bigger game (maybe with a single player campaign), or a budget release (perhaps over Xbox Live).

My most wanted are Shenmue III and Skies of Arcadia II

But I'd also like to see:

Lost Odyssey 2
Headhunter III
Oddworld
Syphon Filter
KOTOR
Vagrant Story 2

Freedom-Force-vs-The-3rd-Reich89066.jpg

Freedom Force III

Irrational has made some fantastic games since FFv3R but all I want is FF3.

YOU HEAR ME IRRATIONAL?

Runners up:
Jet Set/Grind Radio Sequel
Breath of Fire (ANYTHING - DQ sequel or VI in the vein of the first four)
Valkyrie Profile: Hrist? (Probably not "unlikely" but goddamnit I want it sooner rather than later!)

Blood 3, or a Blood remake or reboot.

As long as the hacks who shat out Blood 2 aren't allowed anywhere near the franchise ever again.

most of mine have been mentioned but i'd love to see:
beyond good & evil 2 (probably still coming... right?)
half life 3/episode 3 (definitely coming at some point)
vagrant story 2
lost odyssey 2
some kind of spiritual final fantasy xii sequel, same director/art director, same world, that kind of thing. loved ivalice.

FINALLY! Someone other than just me wants a Blood 3 and/or remake/reboot.

A Castlevania returning to continuity, taking place in 1999, the final ultimate battle against Dracula lead by a beautiful younger Julius Belmont.

Yes it is coming, in accords with Valve Time. Think in terms of the story of Portal 2, in other words, hundreds of years into the future. After we are both dead.

Blood is quite possibly the bestest FPS ever <3

I agree so hard it hurts.

A full-blown sequel to Monkey Island, Sam & Max, DOTT or Grim Fandango. For 50 bucks in an actual store. With a long-ass playtime.

I could totally see myself being blown away if G.Rev were to make an arcade game similar to Herzog Zwei. It would need to be sped up and paced appropriately when compared to the original, and I'd picture the combat having an orientation-locking fire mode, but otherwise the structure would be pretty similar. That's a best-case dream scenario that would definitely mean a lot to me! Crazy unlikely, of course.

What, nobody wants Sonic Adventure
Battle
3? Good.

I'd go with Jet Set Radio. High unlikely with the first two selling poorly and Smilebit gone, but boy would I be all over it. Of course, Sega could pull a NiGHTS or Golden Axe, but they seem have improved significantly since then.

OP nailed what my second and third picks probably would've been with Mirror's Edge and Prince of Persia 08.

But my first and most-wanted choice is Skies of Arcadia, which I always said I would give up on completely after it had been ten years since its original launch.

The tenth anniversary was just last November. Goodbye, Arcadia.

I suspect in about two years my new number one will be Vanquish, letting Sega to pass the baton of holding my love hostage to itself. It's too early to think that a Vanquish sequel is impossible yet, but I don't think it sold enough to warrant one.

In the interim between Arcadia and Vanquish, Sega, you may continue to brutalize me with these stupid PSP sequels to Valkyria Chronicles instead of giving me a proper PS3 version.

... I hate you, Sega. Like a battered spouse, I hate you.

I would love new games of:
Lost Odyssey
Mirror's Edge
Rallisport Challenge (DICE is not interested anymore thanks to EA)
Viking: Battle for Asgard (Don't know how well the first sold really)

Those are the ones I remember right now.

Lost Kingdoms 3
lost_kingdoms_front.jpg
lost_kingdoms_ii_front.jpg

Really addictive RPGs while visuals were meh the gameplay stood up as one of the most originals RPGs and the sequel improved some things over the original. Maybe on a 3rd one we can see visual improvement and perhaps add faster pace to the combat and more Multiplayer battles and trades. Keep the addictive card collecting and I might spend months hunting down cards. Also a more fleshout storyline with perhaps more hours of gameplay (1 and 2 together make 20 hours of gameplay without collecting everything but still beats the game)

Beach Spikers Online
beach_spikers_frontcover_large_8SLNqPg0QoTsLPa.jpg

Super Fun volleyball game and extremely addictive multiplayer. Wasn't slutty at all and the RPG singleplayer world tour mode was fun. More modifications, new body builds instead of the same bodies for everyone, more bikinis some might be a bit skimpy but never reach DOA whore bikinis. Keep the volley bomb and beach flags events.

Phantom Crash 2 (Lets forget S.L.A.I)
411619-phantom_crash_large.jpg

Bigger arenas, more arenas, New robots, more modifications and an actual good online play could turn this into a big gem.

Yeah, extremely unlikely.

POWERSTONE

My man. It would be a perfect fit for XBLA/PSN/Steam with online play.

I would also like a new Dino Crisis, proper survival horror of course, no bullshit action. We are suffering from a major lack of dino games, so that would whet my whistle, but a new Trespasser built for high end PC's would be the most amazing thing ever. On the Crytek engine of course, with massive environments to explore.

One more: a new TimeSplitters. As far as I'm concerned, it's one of the best console FPS series and I loved it's humor. This is a great time for a new one, especially since most modern FPS games are so dull and plain. The concept art released a few years back hinted at something special.

@ valentine71, there was a sequel on Wii not long ago.
