Series you've played every game in

Call of Duty
Devil May Cry (Even 2, ugh)
Disgaea
God of War
Guilty Gear (I still own literally every revision that is available in my country)
Halo
Half-Life
Metal Gear (Including the old NES ones)
Ninja Gaiden (Original NES trilogy, 1, Black, Sigma, 2, Sigma 2)
Prince of Persia (Including the older ones)
Smash Bros.
Soulcalibur
Street Fighter (Unless every single version of 2 counts)
Tekken

I left out series that include less than 3 games otherwise this list would be way longer.

Suikoden
Grandia
Chrono (yes, even Radical Dreamers)
Mother
Devil May Cry
Disgaea (hell, everything in the Nippon Ichi universe)

And too many others to list. Keep in mind this doesn't mean I've beaten every entry in any given series.

Dragon Warrior - first RPG I ever played on consoles and really got hooked on it. I'd love to get some collection of them at some point.

Halo - burned way too many hours on the first two in LAN play, then went online with the rest

Skate - I got bored of Tony Hawk and this really caught on with me, even though growing up on a farm meant I've never tried out skateboarding at all.

Forza - Got hooked with the three-screen mode in the first one and learned to appreciate sims.

NHL - My go-to game. Used to prefer 2K, but they just didn't make a good jump to next-gen.

Samurai Shodown - I think I'm done with that series though, if there's another in the works. It was the first fighter I ever really got good at in arcades.

God of War - less enthralled with the action these days, but it still looks amazing at least

Near misses on Mario (never played Sunshine for more than 15 minutes so I didn't include it), Gran Turismo (skipped two because of work or school or women, can't remember which...so probably not women), Street Fighter (pretty sure I missed a version of 3 in the arcade at some point), and Madden.

This won't be particularly impressive (lots of short "series"):

- Command & Conquer
- Diablo
- Doom
- F-Zero (not including DD expansion kit)
- Gabriel Knight
- Half-Life
- King's Quest
- Max Payne (including surprisingly good GBA port)
- MDK
- Ogre Battle (not including NGPC iteration)
- Penumbra
- Phantasmagoria
- Redneck Rampage
- Shivers
- Soul Blazer (Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma, Granstream Saga*)
- Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
- Super Smash Bros.
- TimeSplitters
- Xenogears/Xenosaga

I didn't include straight-up console ports of certain titles (i.e. C&C, Diablo, etc.). Lots of PC games here, I see.

And the real Metal Gear 1 and 2?

Maybe Half Life?

I'm surprised but it's very, very few. A lot because I haven't played their handheld iterations

Plus, obviously, most graphic adventures series that you could care to name (Sierra 1st, then smaller ones, then LucasArts was my order).

But I've played Freshly Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. It's actually a lot of fun (with a guide).

Unless you're saying you don't want to play them?

*bashfully withdraws* I thought that you hadn't, given the relative ease of getting 2 compared to Tingle. I shouldn't have doubted!

viciouskillersquirrel said:
Were they substantially different from the NES versions? I don't know much about the Metal Gear series.

1, eh. 2, NES isn't in the series.

Fallout: Three entries over a decade, with a shit awful SRPG spin-off to boot. Best shit ever, entry four in t-minus SIX DAYS OGM BOZAR.

.hack
Breath of Fire
Digital Devil Saga
Shadow Hearts
Suikoden (Screw Tierkreis. It doesn't exist as far as I'm concered.)
Wild ARMs
Zone of the Enders

I was going to say Final Fantasy and Xenosaga, but then I remembered I hadn't played Final Fantasy XIV or Xenosaga: Pied Piper.

:lol

It's OK. I wouldn't've believed me either. I do admit to not having played any of the Japan-only ones though (Tingle's Balloon Fight, Tetra's Trackers, Colour Changing Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love etc.).

Thinking about it, maybe Tingle ought to be considered his own series at this point?

Come again? Was there never a NES port of 2, was it expugned from the canon or is there something else?

Numbered Final Fantasy (us releases).

Phantasy Star.

Metal Gear Solid.

Splinter Cell.

Uncharted.

Gears of War.

Halo.

Street Fighter.

Streets of Rage.

Ninja Gaiden (xbox versions).

Soul Calibur.

Tekken.

Killzone.

Still working on the last two Ace Attorney games.

Working on Megaman.

Working on Dragon Quest.

Would the version of Maniac Mansion that is included in Day of the Tentacle count as playing both games? Otherwise I am having trouble coming up with anything that I have fully played.

DOOM - all but ROE expansion
Quake - never got team arena or any mission packs that Quake had
Police Quest - I had the collection with 1-5(swat) but not the later games
Fallout - did not play the action game spin off, dlc for 3, or Van Buren
Gran Turismo - no psp, concept, 4p
GTA - no london

Tekken
Soul Calibur
Super Smash Bros.
Halo
Devil May Cry
Mario Kart (console only)

And several two-part series. I'm not sure if they should count.

I see what you did there.

My closest is also DMC - I only haven't played the SE version of 3.

... And Uncharted ;P

Fuck chandheld spin-offs / sequels of console games.

[fake edit] Adding PC games: Baldur's Gate series, Icewind Dale series, Heroes of M&M series.

It's worth checking out. Vergil is amazing.

Depends if you count the versions included in Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence or not, otherwise, I've played every single Metal Gear game outside of touch and some of the more obscure phone based games in one form or another.

Xenogears/saga
Star Ocean
ZoE
Dynasty Warriors
Descent/Freespace

All of these things got endings that they just didn't deserve. (Yes, even Dynasty Warriors). Everything I love ends up dying.

They count.

Ratchet & Clank - All of them (PS2 + PS3)

Resistance - Both of them

God of War - All of them on consoles even the "HD Remastered" versions, not the portables yet

GTA - Played from III on, every new edition (PS2 + PS3)

Final Fantasy (console) - From VII on

Forgot about DOOM.

And save for Liberty City Stories, I've played all of the GTA games.

Almost played all the Rainbow Six games too.

NFK2K series.
I played the first one when I got my Dreamcast and I played every entry until the last one, ESPN NFL 2005. That's when the series was murdered by EA.

6 games.

None. That's right, none!

Now asking me how many series I actually own all the installments for is a different topic altogether.

Edit: Wait, actually there is one. Uncharted.

Yeah, I know, but it's hard to justify buying a game I already completed multiple times again just for new character and some minor improvements...

If I find it for cheap, I'll buy it for sure, just for my collection's sake.

Ace Attorney
Super Smash Bros
Xenosaga
Beyond Good & Evil
Sin & Punishment
Disgaea (numerical)
Grandia (numerical)
Zelda
Mario (platformers)

I also played all 12 single player numerical Final Fantasy games.

Of series that have more then 2 games in them not counting straight up handheld/console ports

Star Wars: Dark Forces/Jedi Knight
Monkey Island
Metroid
Super Mario
Super Smash Bros.
Ace Attorney
Kingdom Hearts (ok i didnt play final mix but why would i when i played every other one)
Half Life
Sly Cooper
TimeSplitters
Donkey Kong Country

I will probably play the next iteration in every single one of those too if/when they come out.

I once tried to beat every single us released Mega Man game spin off included. I burnt out 3 Battle Network, 3 Zero, 4 GB, 3 Star Force, 1 MMX RPG, and 1 ZX game short. I thought I was pretty close too until i just now listed them all out. I can't believe after playing through so many games I still had 15 games left to go.

Virtua Fighter?

VF1
- Saturn, 3DX, Genesis (played game gear one)
VF Remix
VF2
VF Kids

VF3
VF4 Evo
VF5 PS3, VF5 360

VF5R Arcade

Ninja Gaiden too, in terms of Xbox & PS3 series', including Black.

Probably main SF series. Had both original, champion & turbo. Super, then eventually Super X/Super Turbo.

Alpha series 1-3, and 2 gold (saturn, the one with Cammy?), and 3 on both GBA and PSP.

both DC versions of 3. Plus both SF4's.

I don't know any large game series i've played every entry. Unless it has 5+ games in it it's not much of an achievement.

Some series's i wish i played every entry, but quality kind of got in the way later down the line

Sonic,
Suikoden
Wild Arms
Shining xxx

GT (not counting GTPSP because it's just GT4)
And.. thats about it. My completion of most series getting ruined by not playing any of the handhelds.

Ace Attorney series is probably the only one. There are lots of series where I've missed the latest entry like GTA, Fallout and Dead or Alive.

Metroid (including Pinball and Hunters)
Half-Life (Blue Shift, etc.)
Mother
X-Wing/TIE Fighter series

Uh... Mario if you count only the actual platformers.

And I mean, stuff like Kid Icarus which only has two entries so far.

Hmm

Ace Attorney and Uncharted, I believe.

EDIT: Forgot Super Smash Bros.

EDIT2: If the Freedom Force series only has two games, then I guess that counts as well. Albeit, I've barely started both of them.

from the first to the last game:

Gran Turismo

TOCA (including Race Drivers - I played GRID, but it is not TOCA)

Colin McRae Rally (DIRT is not Colin McRae, but I also played them both)

All Psygnosys/Bizzare racers - from F1's to all Gothams (and Rollercage :D)

WRC complete series on PS2 (Evolution Studos)

F1 complete series on PS2/PS3 (Studio Liverpool)

Forza

MEtal Gear Solid. even acid 1 and 2 and the GBC game. Oh and the originals because of the Subsistence pack-in.

Also Kingdom Hearts, but no Coded or Re:coded.

I've played a lot of series, but beating every single game, well that's something different entirely. I've played every Halo game, but only beaten 2 and ODST.

There was never a NES port or 2. There was a game called Snake's Revenge, which was a sequel to NES Metal Gear, but it had nothing to do with MSX Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.
