Just heard about this american that gives $500 tips to waitresses on the radio.

Im in Spain.

Edit:They skipped the brother thing, but said that Seth is awesome.

You were all over the Twin Cities media this past weekend. Your Milwaukee tip and St. Paul tip both made the news(Ch. 11 - NBC). Where's the hat?

Skipping my state (Mississippi) ... I can't really say that I blame you.

Sounds like a lot of fun, and good luck.

I turned on the radio this morning, and one of the local stations out of Des Moines was interviewing the waitress who received your tip at Fong's. I had a smile on my face as I listened. Great work, sir.

I just heard a news story about you (and a waitress you tipped) while driving home from work today here in Utah. Keep up the good work.

According to the map and calendar, you're skipping Delaware.

Imagine being able to be magically whisked away to Delaware.

Hi. I'm in Delaware.

I've already left two tips in Mississippi but planning to add it back. We will see.

Delaware was an oversight. I need to update that calendar.

Anyone around Omaha? I'll be there through the weekend before heading up to Fargo.

My in-laws are in Omaha. But I'm home in Seattle.

I'm in Fargo today if anyone wants to hang out. I'll be leaving a tip in Billings on the 8th, then on to Rapid City. If anyone wants to come along or just hang out, let me know.

Yo. Hit me up when you're back in ATL again. You know how to find me. Let's go out and make a night of it next time! Lots of cool places and a nerd bar that we need to go to.

I'm glad you're getting this experience and sharing this unique reward and story all over he country.

So Bismarck was awesome. I checked out Laughing Sun brewery (everything they make is great) and met the daughter of the guy who owns Edwinton Brewing. They took me out for a night of far too much alcohol consumption. Now I'm coach surfing in Billings, Montana. I thought I'd take a moment to share some of my favorite recent videos from the trip, so here they are:

St. Paul:

Fong's in Des Moines:

23rd Street in Lawrence:

Rhombus Guys in Fargo:

Next up for me is Rapid City, then Cheyenne, then I'll be heading to Colorado Springs/Denver.

Awesome, thanks! I'm guessing this is also the reason my YouTube channel has seen a spike in subscribers.

Also, Portland is coming up later today.

The $200 guys were just on ABC's nightly news. Color me not impressed that Glasgow and Louisville's own Diane Sawyer didn't cover my man Seth instead.

I saw the video these guys took and thought it was nice a gesture but why am I seeing these fools' video getting thrown around and not Seth's?

A buddy and I hung out with Seth (and the waitress from the Seattle $500 tip) this past Saturday at Brouwers' Zwanze Day celebration in Seattle. Dude knows his beer.

Thanks so much, man! I appreciate it. Next time I'm in Seattle, a beer on me.

Also, are any of you in Vegas? Recommendations for lunch today for a $500 tip? Want to come along?

While you are still in Tampa, check out the brewery, Cigar City, and the restaurant, The Refinery. Both of these places are some of my favorites in Tampa. I didn't know you were in my neck of the woods, particularly so soon.

Sorry we couldnt meet while you were in Austin. Can I extend a thought for your consideration, please? If you discuss tentative plans with someone as we did over the phone, let them know if you intend to go through one way or the other. You said you needed a place to stay on Friday and we discussed breweries to visit the next day. Your plan changed in the last minute Friday and I never heard back from you today. Your plan changed in last minute but the ones I made came at a cost that I could not recoup (time with other peeps, groceries etc).

Regardless, you sounded like a genuine guy and I hope your stay here went well. Best of wishes for the remainder of your journey . Be safe.

xo

I'm sorry about that. We had discussed hanging out, but the plans never firmed up (I didn't want to place any burden on your family) so I wasn't sure what to do and made plans through CouchSurfing for a place to stay Friday night. I had every intention of still hanging out Saturday. Then the person who explicitly offered a place to stay canceled at the last minute and I quickly accepted an offer with someone who said they could keep me through the entire weekend. After that I was somewhat committed to the schedule of my host. I wish I'd done more to let you know, though. I wish I'd known you'd set time aside and hindered other options, but that's on me and I apologize.

I do appreciate your willingness to hang out and am sorry I didn't get to make it happen. If there is anything at all I can do to make it up to you, please let me know.

Are you going to any specific place in D.C.?

I have no specific plans yet, no. DC feels very far away!

Also, I figure some of you might be interested in watching this one since it features someone you all know.

Just saw on the news again...how long will this go on for? Did you hit all 50 states yet...I saw someone was the 81st recipient. Seth you seemed so BORED in the video I saw on yahoo today.

He's been doing this for close to 6 months now. Being on the road and grabbing a couch where he can. If you've ever been on a road trip where you're staying no more than a few days in one place, you'll know that even two weeks can wipe you out. So, six months is a freakin' long time to be doing this. If you look at the schedule, he was at home for about 3 or 4 days for Thanksgiving. That was the last time he'd been at home for quite a while.

And it may not be that he's tired overall. He may have just not had a good night's rest the night before. But he's certainly not bored.

That plus anytime they interview me I'm asked the same questions. Hard to show much emotion when you're answering something for the 100th time. Really, really hard. Definitely not bored though, for sure. Mostly just exhausted and now that I'm on the east coast I'm going to be moving through places so quick I'll barely have time to think.

Saw you in the news here in Boston. Pretty good segment!

Thanks! I did location scouting myself for that interview when Starbucks told the camera crew no.

Did you already go through south florida?

Nope! As the schedule shifted I had to move to the northeast as quickly as possible. Wrapping up in mid-January in Maine would have been a disaster. I'll be finishing up in south Florida.

Did you skip Philly?

No way! Pennsylvania is one of only 3 states (I think) getting two $500 tips on this road trip. I left one in Pittsburgh very early on, and I'll be giving one in Philly, well, sometime soonish. Just trying to decide if I can spend ae time in NY and go home for Christmas or not, so that has the schedule a little up in the air.

Just got home from meeting Seth for his Rhode Island stop. It was, quite simply, an amazing experience. You could see just how flabbergasted everyone was in the restaurant. Kind of surreal and very heartwarming.

Thanks for letting me be a part of this, Seth! :)
