Couples who are facing some kind of trouble or crisis in their relationships are the ones featured on the show, like when a disabled couple appeared on the Sex Box show. Not only do the couples agree to have sex and come out and talk about their experiences, the Sex Box therapists also help. They feature one woman who calls herself a pastor who acts like a mother to the couples, while other sex-perts besides the pastor/couples counselor include a psychotherapist and a sex therapist, who all listen to the couples’ history and speak about infidelity and other issues of trust, lending their viewpoints on whether certain duos should marry or not.

Would make it somewhat more interesting I suppose...

I'm thinking that they should have holes around the box with a number above each hole. You can't see through the holes as there is a flap over them. The holes don't really exist to look through, instead, they exist to place things through. You have other contestants who have to answer a series of questions. If they get a certain number of the questions correct they are awarded a cattle prod. In the next part of the show they have to pick a number corresponding to one of the holes. The cattle prod will then be placed in the hole. If they hear a loud scream followed by one of them flying through the air and hitting the side of the box, it usually means they have guessed correctly. Guessing correctly means they win the main prize. If they fail to cattle prod the couple, it means the sex couple win.

Watched this when it aired in UK, was pretty interesting. Watched it with my mom lol, that version is not that bad you guys! If this American version is worse, I don't know. At least the UK version was more about the kind of relationship you have and how that informs your sex. Sex experts like Dan Savage commenting after they came out of the box.

People get so hung up on the box since it's in the title of the show, but it's more than that.

And it was very tedious because when prompted to discuss the sex box experience every couple ummed and ahhed inarticulately because as we all know talking about having sex is much more awkward than having sex in a box on national television.
