Is the game worth looking into buying? I've heard mixed things, but some GAFer's swear its amazing, others not, and others just post those gifs.

I think the consensus is that it's a very awkward game with an interesting premise that doesn't fully realize within the game. So, if you're looking for something like Vanquish, highly polished and setting standards for TPS games, no. If you're looking for an interesting and unique experience that you won't forget, yes.
I've never played the game, I'm just summarizing what I've heard from many folks in the past.
Innocence is an actual thing, you know.

The game is not for everyone. I like it enough but I can see why some people might not like it. (the game has multiple flaws some forgiveable and some not so much) Think of those old 2D shooter where you had to stop to shoot. Its basically an old school shooter in a 3D game. People expected something DMC or God of War. The game level design its repetitive and same goes for enemies.The power ups are pretty good (Special moves). The game takes around 2-3 hours to beat but take in consideration its meant to be replayed to get all Power Ups and special moves.
If you can appreciate the gameplay that takes skill and you might want to improve your scores then welcome but if you are not really willing to learn its mechanics you probably wont enjoy it. Then again I think its more of a love it or hate it kind of thing.

I dont like her mole. Some people call them beauty spots but I find them most unattractive. She would benefit from green/hazel eyes too, just to add some color to her face.
Her default armor does look cool but I think a chain mail bikini alternate outfit would encourage me to use her more than I did as well

That would totally destroy her charm point.
No one can see her charm points though with all that armor.

My favorite Soul Calibur character is Sophitia. Sexy MILF and it doesn't hurt that she is simple to use and good gameplay wise as well.
Her daughter in SCV ain't so bad either because of the shots.
