Seymour Hersh: "We're Run By a Cult"

Thanks for clearing that up jinx, and providing a great way to get us back on topic. Hersh was actually on the Daily Show earlier that week and made some interesting comments about Iran. They essentially boiled down to military operations occurring sooner rather than later, which is pretty scary if you think about it. But then you look at the map, and see Iran sandwiched between Iraq and Afghanistan and realize it makes perfect sense.

Bush' state of the union last night also reinforced this view with his comments about supporting any actions of liberation by the population. One thing is to see what the arab response will be if Iran is targeted since they're kind of an outcast in the region.

I've been meaning to nab Hersh's Chain of Command book for some time now, and the more I read of his writings, the more I appreciate that someone is taking a consistent stand against this atrocious administration.

I was reading earlier that some had suggested Bush hopes that Gonzales may become Chief Justice down the line...while that's out of his control, the thought of it, the very thought of it, is appalling, insulting, and absolutely wrong. What this fascination with minorities with "amazing life stories", regardless of credentials or accountability for past actions, that deems them worthy of a Cabinet position? Can we get ONE concession that we're promoting the wrong people for the wrong reasons?
