This looks nice but feels unnecessary. Part of the reason SotC was so impressive is because it was on PS2.

Well as someone who skipped the original, this is very much a necessity for me.
Amazing

Looks incredible. Hopefully Ico gets the same treatment.
Hey look, it's a game we all played a decade ago. Yaaawn.
Price is good too $40/ÂŁ30 - was hopeful of a CE but looks unlikely
I guess what we'll have is some LE sleeves or something which will kick digital buyers in the balls
Maybe just goes to show how great a game it is considered - either way you don't need to enter a thread you have no interest in with a drive-by comment like this...at least others have added something to their negative posts.
That's actually the problem I have with this remake - the vision of the OG dev team ISN'T being preserved at all.
I was hoping Bluepoint would attempt to do the original dev team's art style justice, but it seems they went with an art direction that looks...I dunno...like a visually nice-looking AAA action/adventure that could've been made by anyone? Doesn't look anything like an Ueda game, and that bums me out. The lighting (not just teh bloom, but the surreal style of lighting), the sense of scale, the intricate animations, etc...I'm not seeing it.
Guess I'll just have to accept that this is a Team Ico/GenDesign game as interpreted by another studio w/ a completely different style of art direction. Which is weird since the unique art direction is arguably the most beloved thing about Team Ico/GenDesign games.
Eh.
I'm not saying it doesn't look great. It does.
But I mean.
Christ I played this in 2005. And then again in 2006 and 2007. Again when remaster came out.
You keep reheating potatoes there comes a point where they're just not potatoes anymore.
If you dont want it fine, dont ruin it for the rest of us that do want this. And i want it bad.Eh.

The more i see what Blue Point accomplished with this game the more i hope they start developing their own IP one day.
Ya never played it on PS2 or PS3 so I'm looking forward to itEh.

Looks good but can't get excited knowing that Ueda's not involved and there's no new content

Maybe this is what's exciting me even more! That's it's not a pure Ueda styled game. It's huges hints of it, but made by people that actually understand color grading better.
comments like this legitimately confuse me, you guys want Ueda's vision to be as unaltered as possible and yet you expect and are perfectly fine with completely new content added to that original vision?

I think the theory is that the "original vision" had to be compromised in order to shoehorn the fucker into the PS2, and this could have been our big chance for Ueda to deliver his "true" original vision. I mean, we know for a fact that more than one colossus was left on the cutting room floor. Again, I'm speaking theoretically. I have no idea why they were cut. Maybe they just sucked.
We've got some off-screen gameplay that we filmed at Sony's press event today. Game was running in HDR (amazing HDR implementation btw) so our camera simply couldn't do its job correctly so expect some bad contrast and stuff. Still, the amount of details is staggering. Amazing work by Bluepoint for sure!
