I agree with you on all accounts save 1... Counterstrike is by no means a generic FPS'er and is so riddled with tatics it borders overwhelming. It has a moderate learning curve, knowing your map inside and out is essential, and teamwork is key. Also it's nice to die when you get shot in the head.... cause.... that's generally what happens when you get shot in the head.

I agree with you that Halo 3 is just another generic shooter, albeit one that will most likely sell trizizizillion copies.

I'm treading dangerously on-topic here...but I disagree. I think Microsoft has done well with the marketing and PR. Price, maybe not. But timing this with the Halo 3 Beta is brilliant. It's the primary reason I'm buying it. I got a taste of Halo 3 Beta and I am hungry for more...and something deeper.
