On a scale from "Isn't this an original Xbox game?" to "Gears of War OMG", rate it.

I'm still in the training level, but there are things that just look off. The running animation is hilarious, as someone mentioned earlier, there is no climbing animation. When holding your pistol, your left arm extended so far out into the screen.

Texture-wise, its ok, nothing special, the lighting is pretty standard. The FPS holds up at least.

Dern, went to best buy to pick it up but they said not till tomorrow. :(

Nobody had it near me except EB/Gamestop/Rhino... and for whatever reason, for 360 it was "pre-order" only. That's the first time I haven't been able to walk in and just buy a game. I think they only got as many copies as they had preorders, or maybe it is just some new horrible policy of Gamestop's. BB, etc. hadn't received it yet.

Meh.

I think I'm going to regret buying it, but I think I'm going to anyway. I just need to find a group to play consistently with.

I'm sure GAF will use it as a pre-halo 3 game for the summer, so you shouldn't have a problem playing with us.

I'm liking the game so far, so i'll probably have it for a while.

while this game is quite fun, the graphics are "WOW" bad.

Oh, c'mon...aren't we exaggerating just a tad? :lol

They're not going to win any awards, but they're not that bad!

Well, in games that require extreme teamwork, I'm rather picky. I'm one of those "evil ganker" types in MMOs. Of course, I'll need to learn how the hell to play the game to begin with. I just hope I can make a troll "something" work out. I really don't want to play as anything else ever. Lineage trolls also look soooo much cooler than RNA trolls.

Well after playing my first game, and taking three round sto get the hang of it, I absolutely love this game.

Send me an inv: MasterFox187 if you guys have room.

IGN's review is in.

EDIT: IGN took it down. Must have broke some NDAs.

Calling it Xbox 1.5 would be a compliment. It's not a good looking game no matter how you cut it: The art's bad and the tech isn't very impressive. There's some nice lighting, though.

Pretty much. Everything seems very painfully amateur.

Ok, so after playing for long enough, I'd rate this game as 6/10 in terms of 5 being average. So, an IGN/Gamestop rating of 8.6. Its certainly above average, but its not great aside from the teleporting, mostly.

Its worth picking up if you're rich, or want a shooter.

So is this game good or crap!? I need to know!!!

It's alot of fun, but it sucks if you arent on a good team. Teamwork is a must. After playing for a couple of hours I would say its worth it.

I haven't seen it in shops anywhere in the Netherlands today! Then again I was writing a paper most of the time.

How is it? And how much did it cost you?

Mediamarkt, 52,99.

It's alot of fun if your playing with the right people :)

Fun stuff. I played one game with the artifact and had no idea where to go with it so I went around beating people down with it until my team won because we killed their whole team. There was not one round that entire game where anybody captured the artifact.

Nevermind, if I had read the book, that's the way the game was supposed to be :lol

Metallica has already consecrated this thread against that rickn'roll defiler of sanity crap.

"Wait a second. . .there's only team deathmatch? No free for all? **** this game. I'm dropping this from a 6-7 to a 4-5."

Holy bashit.

What modes are included? TDM, CTF, and...? Some objective based mode?

Wasn't it just another variant of CTF? 3 modes.

There's a CTF variant where one team defends an artifact and the other team has to steal it and take it to the extraction point.

But this game is based on team playing.

They couldn't have included the most basic of DM modes? Especially when the game is content starved and only has 3 freakin' game modes?

Intrigued to see how this does - a New Zealand studio has been advertising for the last few months for a team to work on
a cyberpunk fps for xbox360
. I kind of felt like emailing them and suggesting that they ought to wait and see.

I'm enjoying my time with the game. Getting a party together and jumping from game to game is a breeze. My first online game was a laggy mess but every game after that has been perfect, even with 16 players. I like the weapons and the powers do add a lot to the game.

The game DOES need some more modes and maps. Hopefully they release an update that has maps and additional game modes for free (won't hold my breath) considering the price of entry. With all the powers in the game a mode like Halo's territories would be great for this game.

Hearing people talk about Shadowrun online playing Halo 3 makes me want to go out and buy it. Something has to hold me over until Halo 3.

Early impressions: I like it. Quite a bit actually. I played for about 2 hours. While some are bemoaning the lack of modes, this deficiency is more than made up by the various ways you can "build" your character at the beginning of each round. No two matches are the same and often yield very different skirmishes and strats. I would rather have a little better team identifiers (a "tech" purchase actually will rectify this problem). I would like to see more maps. And basic DM would be nice. But all in all, for the purpose it will serve, Shadowrun is the best game for me to satisfy my FPS needs until September 25th if not thereafter.

The review I want to hear is if the game is worth it for those of us who are hardcore into online fps. The lack of single player is ok, my main concern is the lack of maps.

9 maps with a multitude of ways to attack and move around in them. With teleporting, gliding, and ghosting, the maps give a lot more than your average map. I would prefer maybe a few more, but the DLC that is inevitably coming will address this. I just hope they don't charge more.

I feel the same way. I like going in a round and seeing that my team doesn't have a healer, so I become the team rez/healer. I like how if you see how a team beat you last round you can go buy the right magic/tech to prevent them from taking the artifact again. The game just needs more maps and a mode like territories.

Somewhere in Redmond there's a guy saying, "Yes....yes..." with lightning crashing in the background.

So you bought a game even though you were in the beta and thought it was a 6-7?

That makes perfect sense.

When I actually "think" about the faults of the game (no ladder climbing animations, no single player, some iffy animations for running here and there) I get depressed. But it only lasts a few seconds when I'm back to killing people. I love how if you get paired with a great team, you don't push any buttons and you go into matchmaking with them.

not sure why there is such an outcry over no ladder animations... CS:Source doesnt have them either.

the game is rough around the edges graphically, that much is certain. but it's still a damn fun game.

I honestly cant think one one FPS that has ladder amimations but that may just be because I havent played a multiplayer fps in a while.

edit: now that I think about it, no ladder animations are probably intentional. Imagine how much the game would slow down if everytime you used a ladder, they had to:
1. Cut to 3rd person
2. show your character getting on the ladder
3. Show your character going up rung by rung
4. Show your character get off the ladder
5. Cut back to first person.

It just wouldnt work with the fast pace of the game.

Yea well to be fair CS:Source is both 3 years old and free.

So... no single player mode at all, and no free for all death matches?

For real? And its $60?!

When does europe get this game? i'm tempted to rent it and give it a shot. It seems like its trying to be another counter-strike right now.

aaaand, this game gets old REALLY FAST.

it uses truskill, but you can't see what your rating is.

You have no overall stats.

There's 2 game modes, so its the same shit over and over again.

This game really isn't very good at all.
