I know it'd be near impossible to do. But I hate how you start off each game with back-to-the-basics tech and magic. It takes me about two or three rounds to get all of my gear back: revival, SMG, Rifle, teleport and the better aiming thing that I can't think of its name right now.

So, I have like three rounds to play with those and then it's over and starts all over again. At least let us carry our money from game to game.

See, I think that should be a different variant of the current game modes. Some mode that starts off a game with maximum funds like how some CS servers are setup. That way the game can be hectic right from the start. Hopefully things like this get added with time. I have a feeling sales are going to hamper this.

What the game does need is clan support. I don't miss the leaderboards but they should add one for clans. A game like this would be even better of you easily setup clan matches.

This is why the need to design some Counter-Strike fun_allinone style maps. You don't worry about money at all. It's a fun change of pace.

I'm with everyone else that it needs more modes. Not Slayer, necessarily, because some of the powers don't even make sense out of team context (ressurection), but maybe VIP, King of the Hill, Oddball type game would spice things up a bit. A mode with free magic/free tech or both would be interesting.

I'm sure, over time, the game will grow and expand. Gears of War online was more anemic than Shadowrun's when it first came out. They've slowly begun to expand on it. Where this s a multiplayer-only game, I'm sure things will be announced and it'll be expanded.

Judging by how much the FULL Shadowrun run team got done in 4/5 years, how optimistic should I be that the severely reduced Shadowrun team is going to get anything done in a timely manner?

I'm guessing they were working on DLC for the game while the game itself was still being developed. And these are the same people who made two MechAssaults and Crimson Skies in what...four years? Surely, Shadowrun was just a fluke.

My concern is the DLC is already done and we are going to get charged for it throwing the entire balance of the game off. I really hope MS decides against charging for DLC for this game. Then again, it may be their way of ushering in the new marketplace for Vista owners.

To be honest, as I am sitting here at work, I am not itching to get home and play Shadowrun. I think upon further reflection, I may return this to the shop and wait another week or two to see if the community picks up. Forza 2 is off to a much better start and I really don't feel like hoisting Shadowrun up to a level that I feel it really doesn't deserve.

MechAssult was developed by Day 1 Studios and Crimson Skies was developed by a different team that was disbanded shortly after the release of the game.
The team who made Shadowrun were the comprised of publisher support staff for MechAssult 1/2 and Mech 4 and Mech 5 teams.

I don't think so. But I will say the game was very balanced. The guys who were playing on Vista were about in par with the rest of us. FASA did a good job of balancing out the cross-platform play. And 9 p.m. EST sounds good to me.

Played it all day yesterday up till about 6am. Had a lot of fun doing it.

Kind of early to form impressions about how the longevity of the title will be. Like Chromehounds, it appears complex on the surface but I'm not sure how complex it really is. Chromehounds was ultimately a disappointment in that area, for me. If somebody finds the golden combination of race/abilities for each map it could devolve to everybody doing exactly the same thing, which would ruin the game.

There are already full elven teams of rambo ninjas. Elven self-healing plus top game speed make the race perfect for the lone wolf players that ultimately ruin team games, at least on public servers.

In clan/private matches, people will plan ahead for builds like that and use the appropriate counters, I suppose. I've only run into one person who buys gust first round, but he pretty much countered my 1st round smoke elf flag runner. :lol

Haha...I was thinking about playing today with dwarf + smoke first round and then adding resurrect...super stealth medic! My third would definitely be gust.
