I don't think the demo is even out. Are you talking about the beta?

It's out for test/debug units.

Really fun game...I play from 5PM to 7PM central every night usually. On weekends I'll be on later off and on. So watch for me...

Played a LOT more tonight. Besides having the usual multi-play issues (quitters, **** em) it's amazingly fun. The fight may be too chaotic for some players. I heard some who couldn't figure out what was going on. It is chaotic. People teleporting in behind you as you turn to smoke and a brigade of dwarves rush in leeching essence, while everyone fires high caliber weapons and tosses grenades. I've seen some truly hilarious snafus resulting in three or four people all buying it in a heartbeat.

And resurrection is super cool. Strings out close games, although I've seen some tremendous blowouts, too.

I was on a team whose primary strategy was to take and hold the high ground around the artifact. Third match in, we all arrived and got slaughtered. They had posted themselves around the map to triangulate fire, and they ripped us to shreds. We had two enemy summons, massive fire, and two patches of strangle in a space barely large enough to hold eight people. It was brutal.

Teamwork makes a HUGE difference in this shooter. The more I play, the more I like it.

Hell yeah. I also love that there are no set classes but how you can almost make your own class then gain from the racial abilities for what you are trying to accomplish.

This game rocks. Did you know there is an achievement for corpse humping? You have to corpse hump someone who already has the achievement.

That is impossible. The chicken can't come before the egg...

Wow, I'm really impressed.. game is a ton of fun and the combinations of what you can do seems endless...

Anyone else think this game may go down in 360 history as a great underrated game ala Viva?

Played with some guys who said they were from GAF, forgot who they were though.

Feel free to add me I play usually late at night.

CVG has a review up, but they weren't really feeling it.

I haven't played it but I will say that the soul of an fps game is usually the guns and the maps, and those are the weak points cited in the review. Fortunately, those are the two elements that are easiest to improve upon.

PC players that are interested in this should really just grab the HL2 mod Dystopia. It is more Shadowrun than Shadowrun. I mean, it even features hacking computers, a key feature of the Shadowrun franchise. And it's still a CTf/CS-based FPS. It's much more creative and inventive than Shadowshit.

I can't believe it's taken this long to turn a quake mod into a full-fledged (half-fledged?) game. I'm, of course, talking about the super-awesome Superheroes mod.

well! to be honest its a mixed bag.

Tutorials do a good job at teaching you the basics, but you really have to do all six of them I skipped the bot matches it forces you into at the end of each one tho as I HATE BOT MATCHES.

Controls and movement seem fine and one you get the hang of some of the magics & techs to get you around it clicks and feels great.

I have just decided I love the Dwarf, its great taking on massive guys with Wee Man!

So just got out of my first online game, at first I HAD NO CLUE!!! on what was going on but the guys in the party filled me in on our 8v8 match. and got the hang, I took down a massive minion with a pistol and all the guys were laughing at the little dwarf going commando :lol

Anyway the level was pretty dark and muddy that we played but some are really clean so guy it was just the variaty of the shacks and ruins but fun.

Very counter striky still a little confused but I guess I'm on the right track now.

Only problem is knowone is playing this on my friends list right now and I'm hoping with a great set of guys for it too be a blast while were all learning the game.

If you have the money to burn or really love online FPS play I'd say get pick it up you can do worse but for people who dip into a online FPS every now and then or if your just interested wait for the demo next week. :)

PS the party system is a plus but its use and the online UI is confusing and knowehere near as clear and easy as halos (no playlists just just public or private match), its a lot more group up and click public match to join any old randomness.

Thanks for your opinions Gowans. It looks like the reviews are roughly 8's, browsing the smaller sites that I seem to trust more than the big ones, so I think I'll buy tomorrow, seeing as it's only £30.

I went down to the store yesterday with the intention of buying Forza 2. When I got there, I guess something changed my mind and I left with Shadowrun. Very happy with it. I'm tragically bad at the game, but the depth of it makes it so so fresh. A lot of people are comparing it to CS, with which it does share a big feature (Weapons, Skills are bought), though the game is not really about the gun battles alone. It struck my roomy as being very close to PVP in an MMORPG like Shadowbane and GuildWars.

The only thing that would make this game boring to me is if too few people bought it. The more people who play, form good teams, and keep playing for a few months, the better.

Also, big recommendation to anybody who loved Tribes. Because of its depth, I can't imagine jumping into a game of Tribes without having grown with it, so the tutorials in Shadowrun have been a huge help. But I'm still awful (but not at Tribes).

Shadowrun is definitely fun. The gameplay is very tight and I really enjoy the maps. They seem well balanced for all of the magical powers and tech that you have. I hate the dwarves, which I call midgets from time to time :lol, because they remind me of Oddjob off Goldeneye 007. And good god are trolls a bitch to take down. But I'm definitely loving the game. I just hope they add some more gametypes and maps soon.

Well, I listened to On the Spot earlier and listened to Gerstmann's comments. He sounded bored and uninterested in Shadowrun. You would think they would give the review to somebody who was actually interested in it. So it looks like Shadowrun is going to flop, score-wise, at Gamespot. One of his main complaints was it was hard to get into a game online. :lol What the hell is he talking about? I joined up with some GAFers last night just by clicking on one name and joining and we had no problems getting a game going.

Yeah that's a load of horse shit. It's like one button press and you are getting into a group. I've never had a problem getting in a game.
