Yeah, definitely. The Kickstarter is just being used the way Chris Roberts originally was going to use it: Proof that there's demand so he can go back to investors and secure enough money.

Once this raises $2 million (and surely more), Sony will agree to put up the rest of the cash.

I said we will not see Shenmue 3 at E3, I was wrong, but at the same time the game only needs 2 million to be made and nobody funded it? Really disappointing, and I don't think the game will be made the way fans expect it to be.
