SHENMUE 3 kickstarter (PC/PS4) - FINAL DAY - NEW KS RECORD GO GO GO!

I'm wondering if maybe they've made some new videos along those lines (they've already said they've got a What's Shenmue video for the uninitiated to come soon). I'm saying this because they seem to be burning off the pre-prepared interviews at a faster rate.

June 19th - Tak Hirai, Creatvie Director
June 23rd - M. Matsukaze, Voice Actor 'Ryo'
June 29th - K. Miyawaki, Character Design
June 30th - M. Yoshimoto, Script
July 2nd - R. Iuchi, Music

Looking at the dates they went up, we got 1 in the first week, 1 in the 2nd, but then this week we've had 3 (and who knows we may still get another before the weekend). Judging by the staff list we've probably only got another 3 or 4 left to go.

Great stuff. Honestly, no matter the final dollar amount the way the Shenmue has rallied around the KS campaign despite all its issues and problems really is a testament to the fans.

Yes, this is a fanbase that doesn't just claim enthusiasm, they show up, over and over, and really demonstrate it.

Getting to know other Shenmue fans has been such a pleasure, and has been the highlight of the campaign for me.

I'd imagine they'd just do them while they are doing the main VO work. It can't be too much to rattle through a few dozen messages at the end of a recording day.
 
Holy early funding surge batman. It practically crawled 2K over several hours and then jumped 8K in about two. The initiative seems to be having an effect already.

true! i'm already on $1000, so maybe i'll pick that tier later on. seeing how they're unlimited and that. i didn't go for the $1000 grab bag because i wanted to leave a space for someone else to up their pledge.

Donating is the easy part. Our other job on the 3rd is to post to Facebook, tweet on Twitter and comment on the Kickstarter page. Make sure to included #SaveShenmue and a link to 30onthe3rd.com to explain the campaign(especially on Twitter as space is a factor). Don’t bother with a $30 on the 3rd hashtag as #SaveShenmue is the fans’ official Shenmue hashtag and is recognizable.

It's because it's for Shenmue 3. I think the 3rd of every month for a while has been celebrated amongst the community as a Shenmue day.

But the campaign should be "30 on the 3rd for the 3rd".
 
two hours of 'today' left, and we're looking at the best funding day this week despite 30 on the 3rd only starting in earnest around two hours ago.

I know, but actually I think those should be the main videos to attract people that arent already fans.
The other interviews (with the scenario writer and the music composer) are aimed mainly at fans and people who already backed.

As someone who never heard of Shenmue or maybe just heard of it, but never played it, this KS wont give anyone a reason to back it.
It also seems "everyone" wants a PS4 physical release. Instead of trying to find a way to make that possible (yet), they rather include some leather jacket as a high tier reward.

Like I said. When the KS went up, there was almost no information on the KS page beside "We make Shenmue 3. Please back and please be excited."

well we'll see what they put up tomorrow. they did say a new video to introduce fans is coming, so maybe it'll be a bit more newbie friendly once that rolls in.

So true. I have the KS page open in another tab and I'm just watching it get faster and faster. The initiative has created substantial momentum.

Something tells me this might be their plan. It's the smartest thing they could do and they are aware of the overwhelming demand for one and the boost it would cause.

I feel guilty somewhat pledging only 29 bucks I might pledge another 30 tomorrow. Considering Shenmue is one of my favorite games of all time if not my favorite.
 
If they want this thing to blow up wait 3 more days then come out and say go to $60 and get ps4 physical copy got to 80~100 get ps4 special addition ..

Or at least I can dream

I have no idea why they would do that. Makes no sense not to allow a user to get a physical PC copy and a digital ps4 copy. Add-ons arent hard to add.
